As a Newcastle fan I was genuinely happy to see you win the title. Not sure why you have such a chip on your shoulders against us to be honest. If you look we've actually spent less than the 'big 6' and our wage bill is right in the middle of the league. So not sure where the oil club stuff comes from. Man U spend way more than us, are they an 'oil club'? As a club who's won domestic cups and even a league title, despite being a relatively modest club pre-takeover (yes wealthy consortium takeover!) does that make you want us to not experience the same out of spite? You seem quite a bitter fan base.. Hope you stay up. :)

How do you even need to ask this? Any self respecting human should have a problem with your club and what it now stands for.

Should I disown 95% of my family for still being Newcastle fans then?

Or can we move towards putting pressure on our sovereign and governments to stop giving Saudi arms and start calling out their behaviour etc.... rather than telling Neil, 40, Newcastle supporter since birth, that he needs to get on the phone to Mohammad Bin Salman and tell him to stop being a human rights abuser?

****s sake.

Do you know how many of the things you use every day that you'd have to boycot if you genuinely gave a shit about PIF?

For me, it's probably because despite a barren spell of 60 odd years your fans often come across as thinking your rightful place is challenging at the top and winning stuff. Every clubs wants to do that, but you have no devine right. But you're also a big club, in a big city and a one club city. You spent the vast majority of your time in the top flight so this isn't some rags to riches story of a provincial club never getting close suddenly competing like we did. This is like Spurs or Everton joining the trophy winning clubs. They might have also had years of not winning anything, but nobody outside their fan base really would enjoy it if they did. Also add to the fact with the backing you now have, this is just the start, so you are soon to become similar to Man City, people weren't particularly happy when they got their eary success because they knew what it was the start of.

You can also say that you haven't spent like the big clubs, but you are spending a bit. And let's be honest, the reason Isak joined, or Maddison might isn't because you're some brilliantly run club with a great history and string of success (recent or historical), it's because you can now pay higher wages and they'll likely get more in future.

Credit to Howe for getting more out of the likes of Almiron, that's one thing that has impressed me, and is in stark contrast to Rodgers.

Agreed (and 'liked'), my only issue is "this is like Spurs or Everton joining winning trophy clubs". Spurs and their 2 league titles don't need to be in the same sentence as Everton with their 9, non comparison :D

Bit dramatic.

We should put pressure on them absolutely, and what better way to show these Saudis we don't want their blood money in this country by boycotting St James' Park.... Now obviously that isn't going to happen, because football is an emotive sport and these people know it! Which is why I (and many others) 'have a chip on our shoulder.'

Jeez - shay given should be sat in the studio wearing his black and white striped shirt.  It’s not hard to understand that VAR is not asking the ref to re referee decisions. It’s not clear - stick with the onfield decision and move on.  What I do know is that if it hadn’t touched joelinton’s arm then he would have gone more nuts than he did.

Maybe I'm not well sighted but there are no angles that show it definitely hits his arm but there are 2 angles that show it definitely doesn't. That's a clear goal.

Think there's one clear angle from behind the side of the goal where it pops up and you can see it flick off the front of the arm.

It so obviously hits his arm, why can't anyone in the studio see this

Probably weren’t sure themselves in the VAR room so just went with the on pitch decision.

That's ridiculous. Do they not know the rules?

Same as the Newcastle one I guess.

Scorer “handles” the ball .

Officials will say they are consistent.
