Thinking about how our financial limitations are coming to the surface. Rodgers only becoming aware of how tight our finances are after returning for preseason, The fact that the stadium expansion seems to be dragging on and the idea that we would consider selling our prized assets because we have some deadwood we can’t shift, just makes me wonder if they are looking to sell.

I may be miles off, but I just don’t think we can compete financially anymore.

It takes ages to get a large development like that through the planning application process

But, what would be the point in investment, if we arent allowed to spend it?

You can spend on infrastructure like stadium expansion  - it doesn’t count against expenditure on the ffp sums

Not stopping Everton....

And we aren't getting in Europe this season, if I'm not mistaken.

Why would they asset strip us if they're looking to sell though?

Financially, we have never been able to compete really. We have made some fantastic sales over the years, something we haven't done for a while. Instead, we've been rewarding these saleable assets with larger and larger contacts, going against a model that has served us well.

Our recruiting has taken a nosedive, and our squad players are stale and too handsomely paid.

Tielemans should have gone last year, Fofana this year, that's the model, like it or not.

A premier league football club is a solid cash cow beyond the next sky contract when the premier league will probably go down a streaming platform route

of course you need to stay in the PL so anyone acquiring a club will have to ensure they have the wherewithal to spend to maintain the position.

No, he makes cash from owning the club.

Care to explain how?

Not looking but I'm sure if someone came along with a huge amount of money to buy it he would consider it. I doubt there is a club in the Premier league, aside from the 2 Middle Eastern owned ones, that wouldn't consider selling for silly money. All the owners are business people. The stadium and training ground investments all point to the intention being a long term stay.

Leicester City Football Club makes Top money as a business. Its not rocket science or anything out of the ordinary.

How much profit do you think it has made during his tenure?

I don't think he does. Sure, if his investment grows then he's quids ( or Bahts) in.

Wouldn't have a clue to be honest. Going to be a lot though aint it.
There is a reason why rich businessmen want to keep investing in English football clubs.

I do not know. What I do know is even if he is I doubt he’ll sell it to someone he considers unfit for the gig. I’m not worried either way, more concerned with BR still being here.

Well he will make a profit but most likely day that will be, is when he sells up.

The only accounted for payment is interest payments on loans and a management fee. That's far outweighed by the investment king power has put in, either in paying off debt, buying equity or writing off loans. Club has lost a fortune recently too.

It's absolutely nothing to do with the money you perceive him to make (even though he doesn't make any) and everything to do with image.

They would make money by selling it, far more than they would by taking a management fee so if your argument is they're in it to make money then selling is more plausible.

Of all the things to do to try and make money owning a football club isn't the best idea 🤣

Yes and it isn't so they can make another million or two 🤣
