May be true in some respects, but I think in this case the evidence in front of everyone’s eyes is enough to draw the same conclusion.
 

We’ve had a catalogue of bad defenders in recent times, but for me he’s top of the pile. If someone is daft enough to come in for him, just get him gone asap.

A fair proportion of all fan bases have them, and admittedly I see more than my fair share on away days 🤣 but I don’t think anyone is following the crowd when it comes to Faes in a blue shirt, he’s just plain 💩

I think it's more likely Fenerbahche buy him outright for a low fee. I don't think we'd wind up subsidising his wages or anything.

Probably right, if the rumoured relegation release clauses are correct I recon he’s gone from 30/40k to 15/20k and then to 7.5/10k which isn’t insane for a Turkish team.

 

That said, we are clearly a charity case.

Yeah man, especially Fenerbahche - go through their squad and there's Kante, Talisca, Ederson, Asensio, Semedo, Skriniar, Fred amongst others— I doubt they're on a pittance. We aren't dealing with miserly Serie A loan with option merchants, I'd say if a player is linked with one of the bigger sides in Turkey it's encouraging for flogging them from our side

I think you might be pretty dim yourself if you can't work out why would faes might be unpopular and to then conclude that it is because of some kind of herd mentality.
