Easy to want a glamour replacement after Fofana leaving but don't think that was ever on the cards this summer. Looks like he wants to be here, is young, and was his clubs POTS last year. All for £15m seems fairly sensible if a tad unglamorous. All the comparisons to Fofana are pointless - we knew we would be downgrading after he left, our hand was forced.

Aggressive, something we’ve needed for a long time, someone who doesn’t dilly dally and is willing to stick a foot in, I like the sound of him.

 

However, I’m not sure I can agree with OPA comments that it’s the profile Rodgers looks for - with a bit of luck he won’t be working with him for too long though!

I think this signing has potential to suprise many of us. We need leaders who are ready for one hell of a battle. He fits the character. Simply removing Amartey and replacing with this guy should make us much stronger.

Should've been the type of player we were looking at instead of Vestergaard. Our 'Backup' players should be ones who we hope can progress and potentially become first team players, not ones who are happy to be 'backups'....Like Vestergaard/Bertrand/Mendy etc.
