HarryDee8 Posted 4 September 2022 Posted 4 September 2022 I want to say it's too not Tops fault, but if we don't have finances they he needs to say. Its upto the board to be honest now and say what happened over the summer. 1

Aim your anger towards the man in charge of the team who fails to change his ways or get with the times. Aim your anger towards the person that vilifies us as fans, as a collective. It's not worth getting angry at Top. He's not 'complicit'. It's not a fvcking murder The club do a lot right, and some wrong. But there's only one person I'll be blaming IF we get relegated and that won't be Top. I get your sentiment but you've jumped on the seesaw and you're lacking balance. Of course Top would hold at least some sort of accountability if we got relegated after keeping Rodgers at the helm too long. It's Top that ultimately has control and makes the decisions for the club and relegation would produce many uncomfortable questions. Edited 4 September 2022 by Collymore 2

He needs to be told where we are at, and that won't happen if people are just scared to tell it as it is.
LaCiudad Posted 4 September 2022 Posted 4 September 2022 Rodgers would have been sacked if we had the finances to pay him off. The worrying thing is that if he's not paid off, he - like anyone else with an employment contract - won't just resign and leave for free. The situation is so tight financially that Schmeichel left to help balance the books. Question is, where do we go from here?
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 September 2022 Posted 4 September 2022 I see Top as very culpable on this. He owns the club which he’s pretty much allowed to go from hero to zero. This is not about loyalty. It’s about running a business. In any other situation, Rodgers would have been sacked weeks ago and Rudkin would have been out for allowing the club to sign the rubbish it has done.

turlo Posted 4 September 2022 Posted 4 September 2022 Please do it within the next 24 hours Top. Call the lawyers in to agree his pay off then pull the trigger.

Or is he an " untouchable" ? You might think so the way some just seem to ignore his part in this

We’ve made some absolutely humping decisions on wages / contracts and it’s now time to take the consequences. Mail reporting a £120m loss for previous tax year about to be announced. We’re going to have to take this season, very likely go down, fire sale of anyone who we can get some cash for, and start again with young players and low wages with the parachute payments the only thing from us being completely ****ed. Rodgers has played us an absolute treat the fraud and we can’t pull the trigger Edited 4 September 2022 by Cropwellfox 1

MattFox Posted 4 September 2022 Posted 4 September 2022 The idolisation of the owners is really unhealthy and unsustainable 3
Danny280995 Posted 4 September 2022 Posted 4 September 2022 Top has left things to go bad, poor ownership right now 2
iancognito Posted 4 September 2022 Posted 4 September 2022 Worth remembering he fired Pearson and his Dad re-instated him. Then fired Puel weeks after the Copter crash. I think they're just in the process of speaking to replacements. It's not if it's when. 3
lcfc043 Posted 4 September 2022 Author Posted 4 September 2022 If Rodge is still in charge for the Villa game, we’re in a for a rocky couple of years.
Bilo Posted 4 September 2022 Posted 4 September 2022 There is no doubt now that it's time. If this situation continues, the fans will turn on Top as well. Right now it's the fanbase vs Rodgers, but the former have to know that we're being listened to. If Rodgers is still here by the Villa game, you can expect protests and signs demanding his departure. At current trajectory, it isn't long before fans invade the pitch in protest. Top has to move and do so quickly before the entire club becomes too toxic for any decent manager to consider. 1

If Top really still believes in him then that is a major concern hanging over our owners mindset. If he refuses to get rid because of finances its arguably even worse because we will get relegated for the sake of saving what, 20M??? This

What's also interesting is that we could quadruple Graham Potter's pay and still be better off.

dylanlegend Posted 4 September 2022 Posted 4 September 2022 We need a manager experienced in coming in sorting shit out. Strong character, proper manager. Only one man for the job….

Jakemoore Posted 4 September 2022 Posted 4 September 2022 Think people - we couldn’t afford a new signing. How the hell are we going to be able to pay for BR to be sacked. Also, if we do somehow manage to scramble the money together to sack him, the only way we get a new manager is by hiring someone who isn’t employed currently as we can’t afford to pay another clubs compensation. All in all, we’re pretty well ****ed.
