My golf comps are on Sundays.

Sundays are always windy, and cooler. Apparently.

Every. Single. Fvcking. Sunday.

That calm weather in May? I missed two weekends as I was away.

Yet to experience single digit wind in a comp so far this season.

Sick of it.

The challenge we have and it’s a “British Heat” thing, we don’t have air conditioning houses and they’re built to withhold heat

Today is one of those bizarre, warm, humid, it might rain cats and dogs day.

We all just need a good electronic storm for a few hours, as that would be fascinating and cool everything down.

Insulation keeps heat in in winter and out in summer.

I don't mean to be condescending as I'm sure you understand that, but I say that to preface that the problem with our housing stock is not that it's built to keep heat in. It is that it isn't insulated well enough full stop.

So even if you aren't subjected to significant solar gains directly, you will likely still be struggling.

Although frankly, buildings are not generally designed for worst case co ditions thermally anyway so extremes such as the last few days will always happen unless you live in something very well designed.

The heat in England is grim apart from if you’re on the coast. Makes me laugh when people compare England heat to that abroad as if it’s the same.

Currently 8pm here, 36 degrees and 77% humidity apparently and it's quite comfortable sitting outside

Makes me laugh when it gets to about 25 in the UK and everyone starts crying, the exact same people will all be moaning when it rains, too.

Oh and we work here, too, we're not all sitting by a pool all day lol

Where are you? I’m hoping you say Spain, Italy or france so I can make a poor work ethic related joke. On a serious note I had a client in Barcelona so went out there often to work. Loved it. Get in at 10, 2.5 hour lunch, if it’s even a bit hot log off at 5/530.

Haha yes Spain, unfortunately no long lunch break for me though, 10-6 with half an hour.

Definitely a different work ethic over here, I wouldn't necessarily agree poor though based on my experience, I think you can probably find workshy people the world over, people here are just more interested in their life outside of work than their UK counterparts, and I love them all the more for it.

No, but I like to. I can't control when the comps are and I can't control when the weather turns.

I don't expect perfect weather every week but it feels like bad luck when 11 weekends into the season I haven't managed a single calm day. Especially since generally our weather hasn't been too bad.

I love spring and fall. Any weather that's hoodie and shorts weather is my favourite.

You're probably right with fall though, as the winters seem to start much later nowadays.

I probably just jinxed it and we'll get snow in September this year lol

I've always been so damn white(English/Irish genes!), so I have always preferred the weather a bit cooler.

I'm one of those weirdos that wears shorts from March 'til December. Even though people constantly make fun of my legs lol

I think it was 32 degrees in London at the weekend........got back up here and it's still 25,but a walk down to the coast and you get the breeze which is great! Bloody cold in winter, but put a big coat on and you are fine!

Seriously is it against the law out here in Norfolk if it rains or dares to be dark before 11pm!

I swear down since March we’ve had just two big downpours and both of those were overnight.

As somebody who lives for the Autumn and Winter and those cosy chilly nights, moving to the East Coast is the worst thing I’ve ever fvcking done lol

We honestly can get the darkest sky’s during the day and it refuses to rain, yet guaranteed when it’s time to settle down and get ready for bed the clouds break and we get full on sunshine until 10pm….its madness over here

Anyone got any recommendations of local AC companies? Or decent portable units?

Feeling it's going to be essential soon and could be a good investment for the house anyway.
