Makes you wonder how bad it could get meant to be like this for a couple of days and we're meant to have quite bad rain tomorrow.

Water table very high. Ground saturated. I checked my flood risk which is rayed as low, but when the raging torrent is cascading down my road just millimetres from the kerb edge, I'm unconvinced the risk is as basic as the warning suggests

Well, I'm not one for finger pointing - but if I were, I'd be blaming @Rain King for this weather.

Need to change my name. It was my favourite song at the time I last changed. Any suggestions?

Managed to get my monthly leccy bill down to £45 per month this summer so I'd rather the cold weather not come just yet.

That's good going considering about £15 is zero use. I assume you live alone?

Yep. No kids playing XBOX for 18 hours a day certainly helps.

Mine is about £45 and that includes charging a car all month

Reminds me of the old Bernard Manning joke about the fella in the supermarket buying a mushroom, a tomato and a potato...

Looks like another 3-6cm of rain due between 6pm tonight and 6am friday for central areas.

Can confirm it is sheeting it down in Ashby!

The farmers have been doing their nut about the rain this year and how badly is affecting agriculture.

Sign of things to come.

I thought it was how hot everywhere was the main issue? Global warming, or Global ****ing raining.

Increasing global average temperature = more water evaporated into the air from bodies of water = more severe storms = more rain over less time.

Extremes of weather rather than consistent temperate conditions (droughts and flooding as well as increased heat) that depend on location are part and parcel of increasing temperatures, along with other consequences.

The issue isn't just one consequence - it's many, which is a big part of the problem.

Sorry mate I was just jesting around the rain - I didn't realise you were going to take the trouble of explaining it all.
