Has Wout contributed to anywhere near the level of success the other players you mentioned have? No, he’s been consistently part of highly paid under performing teams.

We are in a competitive league! 1 hour ago, GorlestonFox said: The championship is probably the most competitive league in the world Yeah, probably worded wrong. I meant more as in competitive in terms of the quality being good. The championship is competitive, because it's 24 teams competing to be slightly less shit than each other. Theres very little quality in the league which is why it can make the likes of Faes & Winks look good. Edited 11 August 2025 by adejo92 1

I’m just saying in terms of contributions as a starting CB, 2 relegations, poor performances, mistakes, losses etc it means in my opinion he’s the worst CB we’ve ever had. Has anyone ever honestly looked at the line up and thought ‘Its alright, Wout Faes is playing today I feel confident we’ll get a good result because of this.’ There were times in our history that seeing a certain CBs name in the line up filled you with confidence, with Faes the first thought is and always will be ‘I hope he doesnt make too many mistakes today.’ He does have some horror shows buts I think it's still hard to blame him for the team performance, Justin was much worse than Faes last season although he wasn't great either.. but no player came out of last season with any credit bar a couple, the midfield was awful last season and is the reason we stood no chance along with 2 managers in one season. whoareyaaa Posted 11 August 2025 Posted 11 August 2025 (edited) Faes has always had shite next to him, the season we went down under Rodgers we had ****ing Ward in goal and Amartey as his partner. Last season he had Justin and VK as his partners, along with a different CB every week, Justin was destroyed in every game almost. Edited 11 August 2025 by whoareyaaa 2

teblin Posted 12 August 2025 Posted 12 August 2025 I think others have said this. I get why people are frustrated with the likes of faes. But I don’t thinking booing a sub helps. However, how do the likes of Soumare, vestergaard and winks and other get away without the boos?
CrazyKopCorner Posted 12 August 2025 Posted 12 August 2025 If it makes the clown realise he's not wanted here then hopefully it's served it's purpose. Hopefully his agent can find him another club ASAP
Popular Post Pliskin Posted 12 August 2025 Popular Post Posted 12 August 2025 This is something we need to drop in my opinion. Faes has always been a controversial character, mainly just down to his performances and attitude on the pitch. But should we be booing individual players? Faes has been frustrating, but do I agree with Booi’ng him as he comes on? No, o don’t really agree with this at all, perhaps for Dennis wise maybe. As some have mentioned, Winks and Soumare don’t get boo’d so why Faes? To be honest I don’t blame his reaction, isn’t unprofessional, yes, was it immature, yes, but he is a human and clearly a fairly expressive guy, as we’ve seen this kind of behaviour before but at a smaller level. As investors into the club and fans do we have a right to air our frustrations? Yes, but is is productive to the wider team to boo players as they come on? I’d say no…. The reason for this is we currently have a lot of young players coming through, experiencing this all for the first time…… can you imagine Monga for example, hearing all of those boo’s for a team mate, we’ve then got to consider how this behaviour impacts the other players….. perhaps someone like Monga may decide to stop being as expressive, because he may think “will they start booing me if I give the ball away”…… We’ve just got to be mindful about things like this, I’d much rather once that whistle goes, we get behind the team and the lads. We’ve got a new manager who clearly wants to be here, he’s loving every minute of it, and on day 1 he hears his own fans booing his players…. We will just be stuck in a never ending cycle of toxicity if we’re not careful, than we can damage a teams confidence as much as we can positively impact it. Our frustrations are with the board, if we can’t to heckle someone, it’s them, but let’s support the players, regardless of our opinions of them, because it might make a positive difference, and help the team leading to good performances and hopefully a good season. Im growing tired of the constant toxic undertone that’s hanging around, for at least 90 minutes can we all remember why we say in those seats, for the love of the shirt, back that, and we can still air frustrations at the board when necessary. 10

I’m sorry but the championship doesnt count as any sort of success considering we got relegated the season before with like the 8th highest wage budget in the league, being promoted was the bare minimum expectation.

Yes generally we give players multiple chances. He scored the winner on Sunday and he 'could' have had yet another lifeline if he'd have celebrated properly and professionally. Instead he decided to act as a dick. He can do what he wants I just hope he's doing it somewhere else before the end of the month.
dayday Posted 12 August 2025 Posted 12 August 2025 Matt Piper said he was bang out of order with his reaction to the fans after he scored Said Cifuentes needs to have a word with him
smudgerfox Posted 12 August 2025 Posted 12 August 2025 Trying to steer between the two camps. The player he most resembles to me is David Luiz (ex Chelsea and Arsenal). For large parts of any game he looks class - his interceptions, his passing range, his ability to bring the ball out of defence, his heading are all generally good. But then he makes a calamitous mistake - just one - and when it costs you have to doubt whether all the good bits are worth it. On Sunday he played a really bad ball back to Jakub and put us under real and quite unnecessary pressure at a crucial part of the game. He just doesn't seem to have that safety mechanism which is so important in a modern defender. I'm happy to support him but he has to earn that support. He needs to 1) cut out the errors 2) show the leadership you ought to be able to expect from a defender of his experience and pedigree 3) cut out the ear-cupping when he's scored a free header from five yards - literally unmarked. In short, admit your mistakes and grow up.
Bert Posted 12 August 2025 Posted 12 August 2025 The best way to answer the fans is with performances. But personally I don’t care he reacted the way he did. Give it out, be prepared to take it back. We’re starting to sound like Liverpool fans.

Totally agree. Unfortunately if you show support for the players the boo boys are targeting then you’re given the usual derogatory title of being a “happy clapper”. Did those of you who booed him celebrate the goal or do you wish he hadn’t scored? 1
