Come on then, let's have a single directory of fibs and contradictions that our beloved manager has done in his time at Leicester.

I'll start -

2021/22 Set piece issue or lack of in Brendan's eyes - October 30th 2021

“It’s never been an issue for us in our time here, but certainly we need to improve on it.”

This was on the back of conceding a load of goals from set pieces in the first part of the 2021/22 season, having gone from being the best defensively at set pieces in 2019/20 to being the 5th worst in 2020/21 and then joint worst with Everton by the end of 2021/22. But as it stood part way through 2021/22 we apparently didn't and never had had an issue with set pieces.

Weeks later he had to admit we did, he went on to say we had a specialist set piece coach but we're never told who that was and those close to the club / in the media have admitted there wasn't one. We do eventually now have one appointed (Lars Knudsen) but his contradictions and possible out right lies about having a specialist set piece coach last season shouldn't be forgotten.

Who's willing to go next? I've got more to come 😂😂😂😂

Who's got the quote about before Brendan we were a team just happy to survive in the league not long after our title win and repeated top half finishes?

I remember that one  from around the time we lost to Forest in the FA cup and was on a losing run in the league last season. Can't find the exact quote but we were on less points than we were when Puel was sacked!

There is an awful lot to choose from here!

I like the overachieving line he has kept pushing.

Wasn’t it the Brentford game where we pissed a two goal lead and he came out and said the lads were tired but yet he only made one change, when Brentford went on to make numerous changes that turned the game?

Yes - in 30 degree heat as well.

Brendan Rodgers calling Ryan Bennett a warrior lol

“I had tried take him to Swansea but the deal never quite got done and he ended up going to Norwich,” Rodgers said. “I have been aware of him for a long time, since his days at Peterborough and in the junior England teams, and he is a good pro. He is a warrior type and I just felt that coming into this part of the season having that bit of experience around if anything happens to our two centre halves, who have been outstanding, he is ready.”

“There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes that people would be unaware of. Cags is a good man and it’s been hard for him.

“Again I go back, when I came in here he was fourth-choice centre-half. He had the chance then and did really well in that first season. I think it’s then probably been a mixed bag for him.

“But what you’re always looking at is the two. When you’re putting centre-halves together, it’s about the two, it’s not about two individuals. They’ve got to work together.

“Cags has come in and has had various injuries, he’s had moments where he’s not been able to train and has been out of the team. But then of course, we had Wesley Fofana and Jonny Evans for a good part of that.

“He’s there, he’s working, and if we feel then that he’s in that right moment to come in, we will do that. But you can only judge on what you’re seeing in training. But him, his professionalism has been superb, but you’ve just got to always pick the team that’s the best collective.”

Yet he played 40 games in 19/20 mostly with Evans 45 games when we finished 5th conceding 41 goals in 38 games. So he's shown he is compatible with Evans and his "professionalism has been superb"  which I assume includes training well.

So why is he prepared to use every other combination but not include Soyuncu? We're bottom of the league Soyuncu must be capable of helping us improve on that position.

So he's either protecting Soyuncu from some personal or fitness issue he has or he just doesn't like the guy.

Can there be another reason

I’ve come to rather loathe Rodgers. It’s a tough thing to say, seeing as we finally won the FA cup under his stewardship, but I can’t stand him anymore.
He remains a media darling, for some bloody reason, yet he’s full of fookin nonsense and excuses.

He’s had his feet for too long, firmly under the table of a Chairman and Board who seem to be absolutely apathetic in terms of doing anything much about our current plight.

We’ve become the epitome of how NOT to run a football club and if we do get relegated I genuinely fear we could be in the doldrums for some years.

It’s quite bizarre really that firm action hasn’t been taken and I do wonder whether our fan base, who seem as soft as they come, have something to do with this. Last Saturday was a prime time to show some real protest at how the club is being run. All we got was a banner or two and some boos at the end of the game.

Unless something concrete changes, we are looking like slipping into the Championship without so much as a whimper.
Thurs night really does become a ‘must win’ game.

Saying that the club just aims to stay in the division after 5th, 5th and 8th placed finished.

Constantly trying to convince anyone that we're a pressing team.

When he says "That's what I was brought in to do" when we beat a big 6 club but "we can't compete against these sides" when we lose.

This is one of my personal favourites, it's got everything.

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11712/12231840/harvey-barnes-out-for-at-least-six-weeks-with-knee-injury-brendan-rodgers-says-leicester-down-to-bare-bones

Rodgers discloses that Barnes had been struggling with a knee issue for a few weeks, rested him in the 2nd leg vs Slavia Prague and i'm sure there's another interview with him somewhere where he digs the fans out who'd have slated him if he hadn't played Barnes. He then starts him vs Arsenal and is out for the season.

This article then goes on to quote him saying there's nothing that could be done about the injuries we'd got?????? Even though he disclosed both Barnes and Evans had been struggling for weeks with the same injury that then ruled them out 😂😂😂😂

"We now have to dig deep. We can't control the injuries but we can control the attitude and mentality of the team, and for that the players are absolutely brilliant. We'll do our very best with what's available until the end of the season.

"You can control performance, you can't control injuries. Our goal is to arrive in European football again, we're still in a great position to do that. Our defeat today won't change that"

Some quality stuff about our goals of European football with largely the same squad that less than 18 months later is now deemed only to try and achieve 40 points.

Stating transfers create competition for places and moaning the current squad haven't been pushed on, due to the lack of them. It then seems very strange you'd openly not push competition for the goalkeeping spot by complimenting Iversen's performance against Stockport, instead opting to reinforce how obvious it is that Ward is number 1.

Beating West Brom 3-0 at half time when it could have been 7 and he says that’s the worst we have ever played.

The crowd made the players nervous when he brings Vestergaard on for a West Ham corner - West Ham equalise

The fans make the players nervous when passing round the back  at Brighton - no Brendan it’s your shite style of play that makes the fans nervous.

Danny Ward is our number 1

What even is that competition anyway?
