I’m not so sure that was the case back in the day. Even when we were really shit in the 80’s I still remember us getting behind the team even when we were losing badly. Maybe rose tinted specs but I think we encouraged the team more back then because we were always the underdogs and starved of success.
I’m convinced our recent success has made some fans feel more entitled for the atmosphere to be driven from the pitch when it should also be the fans role to lift the players.

At the very least the whole ground got to their feet for a corner and sang 'come on Leicester'

Kop sits there like they are in traffic on a Monday morning

Hearing the opposition sing our managers name was horrid.

I know Wednesday sang a lot for Pearson but at least it didn’t include him “hating” us.

Yup mentioned it before but it was a genuine low and entirely inevitable

I've honestly no idea how people can look at that tonight and point the finger at the only block truly going for it. Where was the rest of the ground?

Their end was annoyingly good this year. Probably their best here.

I was in the SK1 and I didn't hear them until the 2nd and 3rd goals.

The singing section gave it a really good go as always but there's just too many people that might as well be watching Netflix

Yeah genuinely mind blowing

I’d honestly say their end was the best I’ve seen down here in the premier league tbh in terms of the way it went off for the goals

But it kind of should be really given the rivalry…

Yeah it was poor even before the second half. I swear we always suck for Friday night games. Leeds at home on the Friday night was also a massive disappointment last year.

I know we’re at a low ebb and play in a soulless bowl etc etc, but it still shouldn’t be that poor. Still maintain that the family stand is more buoyant than the kop (excluding Union FS). My constructive criticism to Union Fs would be to bin off the tinpot stuff (the terraces, the palace song, come on Leicester boys etc), but obv appreciate they are the only ones trying to get us out of this mess, and apologise for even mentioning them when it’s the other 29,000 that are the issue 😂

I think we need 5 years in the championship, even if we are close to bankruptcy, to try and cleanse the fan base and force some kind of re-organisation of the ground. I’ve got no interest in watching pointless premier league football in a dead modern stadium.

As other’s have said, Forest end was annoyingly good to rub salt into the wounds.

Absolutely agree but we aren’t the only ones on that. It’s just the way the football has evolved. We are a unique fanbase because of the success we’ve had and it’s killed the fanbase.

For anyone who reads my posts you’ll know that I’m most active in this subject and I’m all for the lads at the front.. you’ll also know I probably repeat the same old thing, but when I say the song book needs updating, tonight absolutely proved it.

i actually left early tonight, can’t remember in all the years whether I ever have. But from 87 mins and them rolling around on the floor I just couldn’t watch anymore.
within the first 10 mins and for come on Leicester boys to start was utterly embarrassing. 10 mins into a derby match, the kop end was silent, the east just sat there knocking their clappers, nobody could be bothered. People want safe standing but if that’s what’s going to happen with just people slouched against the railings then why bother?
im a massive fan of the lads down the front, they work non stop, gear everyone up and really do try BUT and there is a massive but after tonight, they’ve got to listen to feedback from others. They are over killing the songs massively and with that drum going constant it’s difficult for half way up to change the song.
i ain’t sure whether they think the section will join in more after the 20th time of the chant?
I really do like what they do but fans are suggesting songs in the topic but nothing new is coming out. I do get your trying the new ole song about the top 3 leagues but for the 10 mins and only 5 rows, me and a few others singing just behind you but the ground was silent?
what’s more embarrassing was apart from Jamie vardy who scored, mads Hermansen who made a save I don’t think any other player was sung..

Going to leave it there but sorry lads, tonight was a massive disappointment.. the whole kp was a shambles but something has to change. I get it that grounds are suffering but if we are around 20% of atmosphere on a night under the lights against forest then there is no hope..

agreed.

But they don't care about us remember?

That many early leavers, it was actually beneficial to stay until the end. Don't know about anyone else, but it was quite pain free getting away last night.

I still maintain that those wanting to improve the atmosphere, need to actually meet face to face and have discussions about what we can do. A little like the fan forms that UFs put on but just to be led by the general fanbase. It isn’t always up to UFS and as a collective fanbase we need to take responsibility, whether it’s moving the section, changing the songbook, meeting with the club (not sure they’d be any use in that but you get my point) I think a lot of people (understandably) look to UFS to start everything but if they want to back the club in the European style way, and they think that’s working, fair enough but it doesn’t mean we have be unhappy and follow it. New sections can be created, different songs can be sung, it’s down to effort of the collective fanbase. People moan but we’ve got to be part of the solution too.

It's the new stadium effect as well. Filbert Street always had a charm to it and was more compact.

When we were barely getting 20,000 through the second half of the 2000's (after 2004 relegation) it was dire then. Coventry is basically similar from Highfield Road to Ricoh and they haven't been in the PL since they moved. Forest still have their heritage of their old stadium.

Bar the odd season (and odd games) it's always been a struggle for atmosphere at KP.

Reality is I see lots of ideas, suggestions and writing and very few people acting upon them.

Start acting towards them

The atmosphere is massively influenced by the performance on the pitch. In the second half the team looked clueless, lacked conviction and by the end were going through the motions. When this is considered on top of the club being lead by a manager who is unpopular, there’s no surprise that the atmosphere was flat. To happily sing and cheer throughout that second half would’ve required the delusion that only multiple pints of beer can provide.

There’s always lots of discussion on here and it shows a desire for change but there has actually be some action … I’m happy to meet with everyone and everyone

Easier said than done.

I'd happily protest at the direction being taken in many areas of the club but I fear there's as much apathy in physically doing so from a large portion of our fanbase profile as there is in match day support.

That “Leicester boys are we” dirge is the worst chant in world football. I’m not joining in singing that shite.

I guarantee you wouldn't join in with anything else either. Guarantee it.
