MK was basically a home game, given the number of tickets they gave us, plus MK stadium is basically a PL stadium and their fans are pretty passive. By contrast, Gillingham is a classic lower league stadium and their fans will be raucous - they're basically Millwall-lite. This is also their big game so their fans and players will be well up for it live on the BBC. Plus they are managed by a long ball merchant and their team will no doubt be full of huge, physical players. My view is that if we go into a game like this with a bunch of kids we will lose. Just to let everyone know, the most physical person at the club is probably the groundsman. We have no real physical presence at all, we are lightweight all over the pitch. We are expecting nothing at all, however it would a result if we win a corner. In other news it's been drizzling here in Medway all day, and still is, so If you are in our embarrassment of a stand in the open. Wear something warm and waterproof. Sorry chaps. 2 4

Only a matter of time with Braybrooke and hopefully next year Alves but quite the stat! 1

Wormleighton another brilliant full back who by trade is an attacking and dynamic winger. 1

Our defence has clearly been the weakest part of our team for the last two years, so it stands to reason they are going to get more of a chance, you'd have no chance of breaking through as a striker unless you were of Michael Owen esque ability at 17 or 18. Wingers should be getting more of a chance definitely. Edited 6 January 2023 by Beachyboy

To be honest looking at all the academy players, the only one so far who hasn't been given a chance that I thought would last season was Ben Nelson at CB. Braybrooke ought to have been played more as well, he is ready I'm convinced of it. The rest still have work to do and Alves obviously has a heck of a rehabilitation ahead of him.

That graphic is from back in December before the replay! There was always going to be a couple for lunchtime tomorrow. Believe it’s our game and spurs are on iPlayer/red button
Clarkey123 Posted 6 January 2023 Posted 6 January 2023 Will Junior Lewis be making a cameo appearance for old times sake?

Haven't seen enough of him, can he play right wing? Edited 6 January 2023 by Beachyboy

SemperEadem Posted 7 January 2023 Posted 7 January 2023 Hope they give something for the fans today. Seeing the lads jump on a minibus in the pissing wet at half six this morning is some dedication. 3

Great news, really hope we start to see some of the real quality academy prospects given the opportunity to force their way into the 1st team reckoning, given the impending rebuild and the financial challenges would be great if 2 or 3 could push on and become part of the squad, even if they take the place of some of the perceived deadwood. Would love to see Braybrooke takes his chance and become part of the 1st team squad for the remainder of the season. 1
Claudio Fannieri Posted 7 January 2023 Posted 7 January 2023 My team would be, with an eye on the current injury list but also using this an opportunity to give some of our academy prospects a chance to shine. These team should still have more than enough to see off a team at the bottom of league 2 Iversen Albrighton Amartey Vestergard Brunt Mendy Braybrooke Praet (if fit) Perez Iheanacho Maswasnise

Guest Lako42 Posted 7 January 2023 Posted 7 January 2023 Anything other than a minimum 5 goal hammering is completely unacceptable. If they score even one goal then BR and his wanky backroom team all need to be fired this afternoon.

Anyway here is hoping for the best and we someone win the game irrespective of Rodgers.
Wallace63 Posted 7 January 2023 Posted 7 January 2023 For those sitting in the open debacle stand, it is still raining here in Gillingham. Safe journey...
