This is second priority right now. Put out a second string team whilst we try to get injured players back in and the odd new face or two.

No disrespect whatsoever to Gillingham, but our priorities lie elsewhere right now.

Genuinely wouldn't be shocked if we lost.

Honestly wouldn't turn down a weekend off in a few weeks, too.

Shades of Newport away a few seasons ago.

Away to a side near the bottom of League Two. Cold wintry day, live on BBC.

They'll want it more and that'll be the difference. Our players, bar 1 or 2, have absolutely nothing in them when they need to step up and fight and show they're worthy.

This is a welcome distraction for both sides, but Gillingham will utilise it to their advantage.

If you going like me, you are a sadist. If you are going this and Newcastle, you probably deserve sectioning.

Especially given the away end at City Ground as well is likely to be full of sadomasochistics (again applying to me)

I mean they are bottom of the football league, surely you'd expect a comfortable win, right?

The fact we can't even really rest Thomas or Castagne sums it up really.

Just don't want any more injuries in this game.

                    Iversen

Castagne, Faes, Brunt, Thomas

          Mendy, Braybrooke*

 Albrighton, Perez, Maswanhise

                 Iheanacho

*If not available then Madivadua

Time for some rotation and to use at least a few of the kids, squad is getting decimated by injuries (again) and time to try and find out whether any of the kids can come into the first team

These lot are quite literally the worst team in the EFL, great chance to give some of the kids a go

I predict the BBC will spend 80% of the time when we have the ball showing crowd shots of people with tin foil cups or the Gillingham bench, for "narrative" purposes even though the ball is in play. Then the editor will about break the button trying to get a shot of the pitch on when we give the ball away while trying to slowly pass out from the back for the 18th time.

Don't think it's an exagerration to say if we lose this it's the worst result of my lifetime. They are bottom of the football league with 7 goals in 23 games. Have we literally ever played a worse side competitively?

l pray we win this, lossing will not do us any good what so ever.

Rodgers may get the boot. That would be a positive.

For an older supporter, Harlow Town for me is the worse

If he didn't after losing this, the problems are worse than even the biggest doom merchant on this forum  thinks.

Was about to write this. They’re incredibly poor.

It's got Newport written all over it. I don't think Rodgers can afford a cup shock.

Don't have enough fit players to make too many changes. Do we play Vardy and Barnes and hope they find some form against lower league defenders? Vardy is going to breakdown if he plays every game this month.
