- Young striker joins Leicester City before loan move to Belgium
- Opoku to spend the remainder of the season with OH Leuven

The 21-year-old striker, who has represented Ghana at youth level, joins the Foxes from the Ghanian sideafter a successful period in the American college system, where he helped Syracuse University to its first NCAA Division 1 Men’s Soccer Championship in December last year.

Opoku’s footballing development will now continue on loan with Jupiler Pro League side OH Leuven, who currently sit 10th in the league and next face RFC Seraing on Saturday 4 February.

Feels like we haven't used the link with Leuven to great effect yet. No one we've loaned there has gone on to become a first team player here or an important squad player for that matter

Hope it's different with Opoku

I get the impression that OHL resent having players forced on them by 'big brother'.

With good reason to be fair. If we sent them our top prospects like Alves (pre-injury) or Braybrooke maybe it would be a different story.

They loved Sowah though didn't they. Hopefully he follows that path rather than that of Hirst, King or Benkovic.

Interesting that Sowah was involved in this, either by recommending him to our club or just by proving you can go from grass roots in Ghana and end up at the top level in England and/or Belgium. Either way its hopefully another fruitful link up.

If he somehow hits the ground running at Leuven it shows the base level of ability he already possesses and potential wise could be huge.

What's the Field Masters club we mention?

As far as i'm aware he's played for Syracuse and no one else?

I think after the college season ended he may have gone back to Ghana and signed a deal with Field Masters Club while waiting to finalize a european move.  I think he was connected to Field Masters Club before he left Ghana the first time as well.

Before arriving in the US and signing with Lindsey Wilson college and then Syracuse University he had a stint in the Manchester City academy as well.

Such a crazy period for the kid. Amongst all the glamour of the PL, maybe we forget there are just ordinary youngsters going through huge changes to their world. Good luck to him.
