Opoku started playing football in Ghana with the FDM Field Masters where he was a teammate of Kamal Sowah.

Hope this isn't just another we're looking to make profit on through loans to Leuven, Sowah also went on loan immediately after signing and stayed there until we sold.

Not a bad start, 2 goals and 1 assist in 6 games. Maybe a season long loan in League 1 or the Champ next season? (provided we stay up!)

Pretty sure the loan to OHL is to get him towards the required points for his work permit, so he won't be able to go to L1/Championship either. More likely have another 12 months at OHL.

He's mainly been a last 10min sub but he's started the last two games, scored and assisted in a 4-1 win and last game a 0-4 win he scored the 2nd just before half time.

One thing I find strange, is that he was the best player in the Syracuse championship game, scored a goal.. and yet 8 people took a penalty and he wasnt one of them.

Im not sure I trust a striker who doesnt fancy themselves from 12 yards and would let a defender take one before them.  Perhaps theres more to it and he was injured or something, but in a game with unlimited subs, where you can come on and off as you want... seems unlikely.     Maybe he just passed the Brendan "Character" test

Theres not many teams thats best player would shy away in that moment of glory.

EDITTT!!  Im leaving my original post so you can see how judgmental I am lol- Article below explains why

He looks promising, but it"s still to early to say if he'll ever be good enough for The Prem.

The lad has been very good in our last 2 games, although I have to say our opponents were very poorly. In the minutes he played he looks fast, strong, works very hard and seems quite smart. In my opinion he should stay in Leuven for next season. A young player his age needs playing time to develop and I think he'll get more playing time in Leuven than he would get in Leicester.

What standard is the Belgian top league compared to the Championship?

Difficult to say.

I believe that the best teams in the Belgian League (Antwerp, Club Brugge, Racing Genk and Union) would be able to win the Championship, but a team like OH Leuven would have to settle for a place in the lower half of the table.

Kermorgant was big enough to take a penalty so that puts your issue to bed.

...still think you just lack someone to run your midfield to control the game!!!

Games become far too open, and strangely Holzhauser was pretty good at disrupting the play (with his antics) preventing teams from getting up a tempo against us.

OHL are not that far away from being right up there, we seem to do the same things every game, one player short of a to 4-6 spot.

I agree.

This is going to be a very interesting summer for OH Leuven. We already have a decent team, but now we need a couple of quality players who can really make a difference

@Ric Flair

This is what I was referring to RE: JR & his contacts.

This guy was guaranteed top 3 player to enter the MLS draft this season, but he plays for us now.

He is only in Belgium to get a work permit & meaningful games. Definitely one to watch. Loved that Shoulder to beat their player and that pass!

This is what we need to be doing more of, we've got very sparse at the conveyor belt of possible talent. I said at the time when this lad signed that we have to take more risks and go through the churn of recruitment's. Placing players on loan to develop and obtain work permits if needs be, it's the most logical way of the model we supposedly practice.

Opoku looks a real find.

Haven't we got someone at our club that's been part of the Right to Dream set up? Hugely beneficial if so.

Would love to see us do far more of this with Leuven.

Kid looks to have something! Give him another season in Belgium and he will develop nicely.

The 1st could quite easily if ended up next to Huth’s ball on the moon he didn’t look composed for that 1, just hulk smash, another striker might have placed that to the right..but hey it went in.

The 2nd was a nice bit of body adjustment skill with sorting out his feet & cushioning it over the keeper.

The 3rd well if that big lad upfront for Man C scored that we know it would be talked about all season and make up part of goal of the season montage, it was that good.

He’s got aggression to knock someone and not be knocked off the ball himself with a fair turn of pace ta’boot.

Looks very promising do we need to sign him up again as this was only a short deal ?

Only going off that video but he reminds me of Vardy in his prime - strong, fast and aggressive with a great finish on him. Hopefully he kicks on enough to allow us to see him in a Leicester shirt at some point.

Cross between Vardy and Danny Welbeck.
