Maybe he's been sidelined due to the appearance clause, and until we shift or balance our coin, do we know if we have enough to pay that suggested fee without impacting our transfer fund.

Even if we do have the funds to pay that clause, it would be a wasteful expense if he only played 1-2 games before leaving. So it would make sense for the club to tell Maresca to hold off playing Daka until the window shuts but allow him to play him if he’s still here after the deadline.

I'm amazed no one wants him.

His prem record isn't that bad.

I think he is likely 3rd/4th choice on the list of targets for a handful of clubs.

There is still a lot unknown about his ability at a high level.

I think in the right system, he could score a lot of goals.

I suspect we very much want a sale, and have priced ourselves out of that with the fee and his wages.

I expect we will give in over the next 24 hours and do a loan with obligation/option to buy.

I think he is quick but often seems to be out of position to me

Plus he seems a bit of a lightweight and the ball seems to bounce off him a lot losing possession

I think he’s going to be world class. I’m never wrong about these things, well, apart from Tommy English, but, you know. We’ll regret it.

Did you think Tom English was world class? I remember him scoring a hat trick against us in 1981 in a 4-1 defeat - even then I knew it was us being shite that day

Swapping Jim Melrose for Jonny English was the worse transfer decision ever made in the history of football(although we have tried to better it in the last few years)Melrose was brilliant , English was horrific

Fvck me I'll be even more annoying if Patson Daka bags 20 G+A playing in a Guardiola clone system at Burnley.

I wouldn’t worry, he won’t.

I was in the Cov end with my dad that day as he got some tickets off someone he worked with.
