But was the reference inappropriate? Was it threatening in any way? If so, even indirect and not clear that doesn’t make it right.

It may have been indirect to you, but a people at the club may know who it is targeting and that is inappropriate.

As I say, the reference was so vague there was absolutely no way in a court of law that it could be proved that it was aimed at an LCFC employee.

The club is trying way too hard to dictate towards this family friendly orientation. The fact they’ve got stewards at games with cameras on their chest when fans are just doing what they’re supposed to do at games and make noise is more evidence of this. I really don’t like the way the club is going and being ran as we’ve all seen at the minute, and now having someone going through the social media and then banning them for having an opinion, is another step in the wrong direction and things really need to change.

To be fair, they wouldn't entertain selling me a ticket for Villa when they had plenty of single seats left. I stood in front of the guy at the ticket office, wallet in hand, his response was "we've got ticket but you can't buy one unless you know a season ticket holder who buys one for you as a guest"

Sounds like they fancy stopping anyone from watching the current shower or shite wherever possible, twitter or not 😂

So to me that reads as - something was said that was inappropriate and aimed at someone at the club. That isnt acceptable

Guessing that's for their own safety as opposed to anything else?

I also wonder how much of this extra security and policing is as a result of fan behaviour at Forest when that fan ran on to the pitch? It seems like the club have been forced to take extra measures and add in these conditions or further policing because of that.

If the club truly believed a malicious communication was sent to one of its employees, they'd rightly call the police. Not just ban someone from attending football matches for an arbitrary length of time.

I'd have thought that's pretty obvious, no? Identifying the "guilty" party and possibly getting them into more trouble with the club.

If the tweets are as innocent as the people claiming they are then why not share them? they would get a lot of support and pressure put on the club if the tweets are genuinely innocent

I get that, but when they’re evidently pointing the camera towards a certain corner of the stadium with nothing of threat going on then it’s not a good look.

One of my friends was at the game the other day and told me he had a steward stand next to him because he was voicing his opinion too loud after the game.

Don’t get me wrong if people are being threatening and dangerous then by all means have a steward there but from what I’ve heard, that’s not what’s happening.

“Heard” is word that is the issue. Heard and actually seen are two different things.

What if he was throwing foul and abusive language around? What if he was been aggressive and there was a child next to him? What if he’s been doing all game and people around him have complained? Context in all situations is needed.

No, I don't live in Leicester anymore and I'm rarely free but I was local and wanted to go. Either way, they'd rather have empty seats by the sounds of it. Madness

Don't believe it myself. For a start you can't actually pinpoint  a person via an ip address, you can't even find out what street they're on or what their phone number is if they're on a mobile due to privacy laws which i very much doubt the club would have broken just to deny access to the ground, so unless someone has their name, address, phone number, a photo of their season ticket and birth certificate in their bio on twitter, this sounds like bullshit. Add that to the fact that a persons mrs might be a cov fan and used the account to slag the club off.  This sounds more like certain fans getting bans for causing trouble in the kop and then coming out with some bullshit to stir the brown stuff.

Social media banning policy

LCFC’s Social Media Banning Policy states that any individuals or groups observed to be making discriminatory or abusive comments on Leicester City Football Club’s official social media channels should be banned using each social network’s reporting/banning mechanism.

Any online conduct deemed to be a “Prohibited Activity” under the PL Commitment will be dealt with in accordance with the process set out in the PL Commitment.

So were these people on Official LCFC social media sites if so I would assume they've broken their rules and are subject to their punishment.

Yeah I don’t believe they are going through the IP search route, but perhaps if some are posting whilst using their full name on Twitter, a ban is quite possible through this method.

Do enough digging on someone's social media and it can become quite easy to find someone's personal details without breaking laws.

The tweet I saw (which I think this topic is about, as he's now tweeted that he's been banned), he had his full name in his Twitter handle.

Not unless you can link a name on Twitter with an account at the club…hoping two people don’t share a name.

The whole thing smacks of bullshit to me.
