We are beyond awful, have zero confidence, mentally weak and most simply don't care. Goalie is shot to bits Defence is weak Midfield has no legs, strength or creativity Got a few decent attackers but we set up not to lose so they don't get in the game. Put your feet up, chill out, have a few beers and enjoy the game. Oh and Barnes to score and you to win is 6/1... thank me later 🤣 What has happened to Leeds after Bielsa left? It seems like players were brought in for a totally different style to the one that made you successful. Bielsa was too stubborn; he didn’t need to play murderball in every single game for 90 minutes. But to me when Leeds play these days they seem to have totally lost their identity. It was always a scary match against Bielsa. I suppose you could say the same about us! We started playing more direct yesterday and it was much more like our old selves. 2

I think it all starts with their board. Spent a fortune recently, to sack their manager almost as soon as the transfer window closed. This showed no plan from their DoF (he’s really hated around here). Co-owners are Americans who it seems have gone the way of signing players from the US who aren’t really any good. Their current manager is out of his depth IMO, as was Marsch when the initial bounce wore off. They’ve sold/loaned out a lot of their young talent, Geldhert for example had a huge impact when he got a chance towards the back end of last season. Losing Raphina and Phillips has clearly hurt them too. Lastly, Willie Gnonto, the only player who actually looks any good for them has been left on the bench of late, which is baffling. The fans seem to think they’re nailed on to go down, which was similar to how I felt about us until this past week.

Wymsey Posted 23 April 2023 Posted 23 April 2023 (edited) Am only concerned about Bamford in their team. Seems to hold up play the best up front. Will be very surprised if it's not the 3 of them, Forest or Southampton that go down - now. Us and Everton should have enough. Edited 23 April 2023 by Wymsey
Popular Post CosbehFox Posted 23 April 2023 Popular Post Posted 23 April 2023 You take Youri out you lose the ability to link defence to midfield. He made an error yesterday but you’ll still get a degree of leadership from him. We also need to step away from this Rodgers thinking of the starting eleven wins the game. Smith is already utilising five subs better - let players like Youri etc run themselves hard for fifty five minutes and then you put KDH on etc. subject to injuries or shockers, you should be looking to use your five subs on the midfield and the strikers. There is a place for everyone to contribute 8

There are twists in this relegation battle yet and one win in 11 games (i think) including a loss to Blackburn is nowhere near enough. 14

SK3Blue Posted 23 April 2023 Posted 23 April 2023 Need to take at least a point, important we get back to being difficult to beat and go on an unbeaten run. Resilience and confidence are key. 2

It was always a scary match against Bielsa. I suppose you could say the same about us! We started playing more direct yesterday and it was much more like our old selves. Marsch is a fraud, tactically clueless and we stayed up in spite of him last year. Biggest problem is Victor Orta, the DoF. His recruitment has been woeful. Under Bielsa the narrative was he was difficult to buy for and only wanted a small squad. Truth we are seeing is that the players he was offered were poor, several of whom play for us now. In Jan we spent 35m on a 20yr old kid from the Bundesliga- barely played. Took the world's fattest midfielder on loan with a 30m commitment to buy if we stay up... obvs we won't be paying that! Essentially a series of awful decisions at board level. If we did stay up it would be the same next season anyway so what's the point? 🤷♂️ 6

More or less spot on 👍 it should get toxic on Tuesday when we go 2 or 3 down but the fan base has lost its mojo and is too apathetic 1

I genuinely don’t think I can face us going down and you staying up though. For me (and my sanity) it has to be both or neither (or just Leeds) 1 1

People like Rodgers elevate followers. We don’t have any leaders, so let’s not pick out of form players. 2

You can clearly see him on the pitch communicating to his peers.
Nolucklcfc Posted 23 April 2023 Posted 23 April 2023 I do worry about them overrunning us a bit. Tielemans is very slow and might struggle physically. That said, without him the midfield lacks quality. Maybe praet in there too? I would say KDH but I don’t think he’s right somewhere at the moment

His inclusion in the team is all based on an absolute myth taken from the pundits match day briefing book, the same one that has Rodgers down as an elite manager. We should be picking players largely on current/recent form and not past or manufactured reputation. 3

He’s still our best central midfielder even in poor form. Edited 23 April 2023 by CosbehFox 1

He could have had DeBruyne, Rice and Iniesta and still cocked it up! Tielemans hasn't been our best midfielder for a long long time 🤣🤣 Edited 23 April 2023 by volpeazzurro
Bazly Posted 23 April 2023 Posted 23 April 2023 Lose this and it doesn't bear thinking about, my mate's a Leeds fan. This could get brutal.
East Langton Fox Posted 23 April 2023 Posted 23 April 2023 That result should ensure an excellent atmosphere in the away end on Tuesday.
Finn Claw II Posted 23 April 2023 Posted 23 April 2023 I can still remember watching us lose to Leeds 3-2 (2004). Two Leeds fans were screaming in my face when they scored the winner late on. Disliked them ever since. Wouldn’t it be nice to take a 2 goal lead and actually enjoy some of the game,

Jolly decent of you 👍 Most of us are, obviously we have got some idiots and unfortunately that's what we get known for. For some Leeds fans it's as if they feel they have to behave a certain way to be a proper Leeds fan, if that makes sense! It's a shame as we can be a loud, passionate crowd in the right manner. 3
