Championship Starting XI - First Game Of The Season

Recommended Posts

There’s a part of me that can’t help being excited for the Championship now. I miss just simply loving a Leicester team. I hated it yesterday, watching them walk off the pitch unable to even look at us, clapping limply as they **** off home. I don’t even care if we don’t come back up, as long as we’ve got a team that represents us well and make us proud to support the club. I’m looking forward to us playing the Leicester lads, give KDH the armband. Bring Sammy and Will through, give Luke another chance. Bring in some championship experience and see what happens. It won’t be worse than yesterday.

I think the lad who's at OH Leuven could get a look in too next season.

Looks a real talent.

Shame that is.

He does look decent. Is there any recall?

He has to be there until at least January to be able to get a work permit here

Might be something we look at it January but probably best to just leave him there for the full season

I've always been proud to support my club, and I always will be. Nothing that happens on the pitch will ever change that.*
I've supported them when we've been the best team in the land, I've supported them when we we've been a rancid pile of shite, Most of the time I've supported them somewhere in between. And I've always been proud to do so.

* Not saying it hasn't been a lot more fun at some times than others though!

Sounds like a real Football Manager dilemma that.

I do agree with you, however I believe you can simultaneously be proud to support the club whilst not being proud of the players playing for it currently. It’s easy to say I know, but the fight and desire was just not there yesterday from many playing, and I am not proud of that. If we’d lost by the same score line yesterday, but they’d all given there absolute all I could take it, but that simply wasn’t the case.

Gone: Madders, Tielemans, Ndidi, Tete, Barnes, Faes, Timmy Lasagne Castagne

Starting lineup vs.  Huddersfield (or whoever)

Iversen

Justin, Souttar, Edwards (sign from Peterborough), Kristiansen

Harrison (signed from Leeds), KDH, Soumare, James Ward-Prowse (signed from Saints)

Daka, Georges Mikautadze (Metz)

There’s no way that Jack Harrison and James Ward-Prowse are playing in the Championship next season.

So, taking this semi-seriously, we could line up:

GK: Iversen

LB: VK/Thomas

CB: Souttar/Vestergaard

CB: Faes

RB: Justin

CDM: Milivojevic (Palace, Free)

CM: Choudhury

CM: KDH

LW: Kent (Rangers, Free)

RW: Chaplin (Ipswich)

ST: Daka/Vardy

Would like more in the CM department but this team is with absolute minimal scouting, and the only fee would be for Chaplin. Have Wormleighton, Braybrooke, Brunt, Wanya waiting in the wings too.

Second thing will be to sell Belvoir drive, and possibly fold the female team.

zero chance that happens. have you seen the pelters Colney Heath are getting just for kicking their women's team (tier 5) off the main pitch for a bouncy castle? if we dissolved our only top flight team to save a couple of quid we'd be absolutely slaughtered from all quarters and rightly so

Not sure Kent would drop down to the Championship. He could get a lower PL club.

Any that aren't out of contract - tough you are staying! Too many not caring as they think they can go. No, you play with no hunger, you stay and fight in the championship!

Watford signed Choudhury on loan with an option to buy so I’d expect him to go to them.

I think he was bought in not just with this season in mind

They will have planned next season in either division with these 3 in charge privately

why only give them a contract till the end of the season then?

An option to buy, but not an obligation though wasn't it?

I'd have him back if we drop and he wanted to come back because cost wise I don't think we'll find much better for that level.
