I think I would still happily keep him as a squad player next season if / when we go down for that 1 year

We are going to have to sign at least 10 players in the summer, having Hamza in the squad means we can put more money into other signings / a first choice defensive mid

Starter for a mid table Watford, had an alright season, would be fine as a back up squad player for us

….As long as Watford decide not to sign him - They have first dibs!   I would suggest the only reason he’ll still be with us for his last year is that they realise the £6m fee is an absolute rip off!!

Wasn’t he rumoured to of been involved in off the field disciplinary issues when he was here over the last few seasons.

I wouldn’t want him here at all, get rid.

I think if it was half that they probably would, but yeah I think they will feel it is probably a bit too much even with already having £30m from Joao Pedro

Sold £50-60m worth last season and still only spent about £15m, if that is all they spend again not going to want over a third of that to be on just Hamza!

Come back here, do a job for us off the bench as a destroyer or if we need him to kill someone, leave on a free if we go back up, probably get a new 10 year deal if we don't lol

He's not piss poor in the Championship though and that's where we'll be and we'll need squad depth. Not necessarily saying he should start every game or he's massively inspiring, just if the money is tight and it's the difference between strengthening another position then I'd sooner we did that.

To be fair the original poster has missed the fact we are piss poor and broke.

What's the outlay here? £70m??

Gyokeres and Scott are Prem bound and £20m+ each. Moleiro will head to Madrid and be loaned out to a lower La Liga side. As for Marcos Leonardo, Gulliksen and Gourna-Douath, I'd be pleasantly surprised if our scouting dept had heard of Alex Scott let alone these 😅

Some team for the future though! :schmike:

I know relegation is a terrible thing for the club. I know that. But part of me just thinks “fvck it” now. Might be fun. I can’t be arsed. Reset everything. If we do go down I’d keep Vardy for one more year and do my very very best to keep nacho.

Iversen

VK/JJ

Wout

Souttar

Castagne/Ricardo

Mendy/Hamza

KDH

Vardy

Daka

Nacho

Thats actually not a bad nucleus. Add in a couple of the youth team and some new signings and suddenly I feel less depressed.

Iversen, Kristiansen, Souttar, KDH, Iheanacho.

Everyone else has question marks over them; injury record, age, wage, motivation. It'll be a bloodbath, complete capitulation of our current squad, onto an EFL rebuild.

Thomas & Justin could help immensely if they respectively lived up to their potential of two years ago or can stay fit.

Quite a few putting Albrighton in their XI's. Hasn't he flopped at West Brom? No goals or assists.

Yep, huge flop.

Albrighton is finished. People suggesting him clearly haven’t been reading or watching any other football apart from us.

If we can’t sell him then he’s still our player

maybe he won’t start but he’ll be on the bench

I will remind some on here that Burnley a town less than a third of the size of Leicester have bounced straight back up. Relegation will purge the club of incompetent staff both playing and non playing and quite possibly some of the elitists who post on here. It was impossible to believe once that mighty Forest, Leeds and Wednesday would ever decline , but they did. Like Burnley , the trick is to hit the ground running and not let one bad season dictate your future.

Ricardo or new RW

Be great if it resembled anything like this.

I think people will be surprised by even the likes of Daka being poached. It'll look extremely different to how everyone's thinking. 10-15 new players.

Was toying with the idea of Drinkwater on a pay as you play.

Think the part about Forest, Leeds and Wednesday (who just from the top of my head must have a combined period of 40 years outside the top) are exactly why there's the worry.

I still think it's something you want to avoid at all costs. By all means have that purge in the Premier League if you can. If we do somehow avoid going down, they surely don't need any more warnings.

Any younger players look like they could make good squad players?

Braybrooke

Alves

Maswanhise

Marcal-Maviadua

Brunt

Wormleighton

Nelson

Braybrooke will no doubt be involved once he returns to fitness.

Alves probably needs more u21 games or a low league loan. But doubt he will get much involvement.  He's still very very inexperienced playing mens football.

Maseanhise

Marcel

Brunt

Are league one standard at best. Highly doubt they will make it here.

Age and time are against them to make it somewhere.

Wormleighton and Nelson will probably be looking for loans.

So I don't think there will be too much coming out the U21s ready for the championship.
