I knew every single Championship player when we were in that league but would struggle to make more than 10 from the season just gone.

I'll probably go back to paying much more attention to the football league and watching the odd MOTD and the big Premier League games.

I definitely need to brush up on my football league knowledge over pre season. Not sure I could tell you any more than 5 of the stand out championship players

Not watched a full prem game unless we've been involved for a while. I watch bits of games here and there but unless leicester are playing I'm not that bothered and to be fair, I've started to be less and less bothered about watching our games this season

This!

when my friends ask me who we should sign if we go down I’m stumped because my football league knowledge has gone from knowing everything to knowing nothing over the course of 9 years.

Ivory tower and all that. At least something to be excited about is ‘learning football’ again.

It’s the best league in the world so absolutely. Will probably root for Man City to win it all.

How do people watch Championship games in the US?

ESPN+ has the rights, just as they do for FA Cup and League Cup. They don't show every match a la NBC/Peacock, but beggars can't be choosers...

It'll get nothing more than a passing interest from me. In a way, it might be refreshing to detach from the 24/7 media coverage and start to reclaim some time at weekends and on weekday nights. Having to keep an eagle eye on others' games knowing they're fully televised is incredibly stressful. It honestly feels like I've been living in LCFC's orbit constantly for the past few years now and it's exhausting. :sweating:

Doesn't mean I want us to get relegated, though.

No I won’t.  I think it’ll be quite boring as Man City will win it every year.  I’ll actually be more interested in who’s getting relegated and joining us.

I use to have a real interest in the championship (and League One) when we were down there. I dont have any knowledge of the league now. I use to enjoy watching games when we were there - completely stopped within our first year and concentration was very much on the PL. This year, I've even lost interest in the PL apart from games which concern us. I expect the same will happen if/when we go down and the Championship becomes the focus of my attention.

****ing Don Goodman on commentary.

ESPN+ has quite a few, but not all.  Have to listen on the radio for most games.

Yes but obviously not with the same interest. I do find matches spread over several days to be irritating and the general air of the league to be suffocating.

Also worth mentioning that Newcastle might be the next champions that aren't Man City. Some would say that won't be boring, but what it will prove is that you essentially have to be owned by a state to have a chance of winning the title.

No chance, Newcastle will dominate soon

True.  For the next few years it’ll be Man City, then they’ll take turns.  It’ll be tedious I reckon.  Arsenal fans must be gutted their team blew the last chance they had of winning the league.  I’m glad we did it before it became a closed shop.

Absolutely! Love football and will watch different games from different leagues/ countries so why not the Premier league?

Just because it's not Leicester doesn't mean I have to stop watching it as some form of protest/guilt trip

Only Cov v Forest games

The thought of these pair playing Premier League football with us possibly playing Championship football next season makes me a little sick in my mouth.

I will continue to watch it because I get all the Premier matches(no 3 pm embargo) along with the Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga, a couple of Ligue Un matches, the FA Cup, a championship game, and the champions league for about 25€ a month.  It is one of the benefits of living abroad, thank god I don't have to pay Sky's fees.
