We NEED to look forward not backwards.

I am looking forward, just happens to be with a glorious man from our past

No chance that he'd be as successful here now as he was in the past. Before he had the finance and backing to shape the backroom teams as he wanted. I seriously doubt the finances are there for it this time. Itl be years of bottom half finishes before we'd be close to getting it all exactly like he'd want it. Secondly the lack of Walsh and probably Shakespeare is absolutely massive. Combined they were like the Beatles or Gervais, Merchant and Pilkington and similarly apart they just arent as good.  I doubt we'd even go for him anyway so all this is moot.

We've had two managers whose approaches are to softly tap the players on the arse and whisper sweet nothings into their ears despite them being absolutely disgraceful at their jobs. Failure has been consistently tolerated.

It's clear we need a man to come in and start smashing their gormless fvcking faces in.

Dave Nugent said recently that Nige was so intimidating that players used to avoid him in the corridors at Belvoir Drive just in case he was in that kind of mood. He commands a drill sergeant-like respect.

Come back, Daddy.

I've been wanting Nigel back in a heartbeat ever since he left but the reality now is the problem is bigger than him. Getting old faces back will NOT give the reset this club badly needs. It needs a completely fresh approach and fresh structure. The fact Shakey is back and hasn't got a tune out the players tells me this just won't work sentiments aside

19th, 17th and 14th place finishes.

Yes he's smashing it.

Bristol City were a mess when he joined them, he’s had to clear a lot of deadwood, reduce the wage bill and build a new squad. You can’t really expect them to be finish higher than 14th with all those issues to deal with. Now they have foundations in place and i’m sure they’ll reap the rewards from Nigel’s hard work.

See the post below from the Bristol City fan.

Hi Foxes, Bristol City fan here. I'm sad to see you in trouble.

Leave big Nige where he is please as he's doing a fine job down here. Cut the wage bill hugely, which was needed after a big overspend by a predecessor, removed all the high earning mercenaries, built a young stylish team and can now spend a few quid (not by your standards but decent for us), more if we, sadly, lose Scott to the Prem.

He comes across as excited where he has got our club and there's a real togetherness in BS3.

Can we keep him eh?

Remember when we all laughed at Forest when they re-appointed Billy Davies when they were hopeless and right in the shit, and he appeared in a video message at a home game on a big screen (largely talking about himself in the 3rd person) and it was just some pathetic living in the past that was utterly doomed to fail?

:nigel:

Yeah but when we did it, we won another league title, had a great escape and built everything in place for a Premier League win.

Hardly comparable to that Scottish oik

Imagine revealing him at the West Ham game like they do wrestlers.

What would be his theme song?

I say either The Boys Are Back In Town or Wipeout by The Beach Boys.

Pretty simple that

Enters with a big grin on his face handing out pats on the ass, high fives and headbutts in equal measure.

Sure I’d take Nigs back but everything has changed now.. we need to find a new manager that has Pearson’s traits and start bringing in the good people we used to have before. Get rid of the dead wood. Complete rebuild and honor our original philosophy.

If we'd have got Dyche we wouldn't be in  this mess .

It's nice to get a reminder that despite it being a crap season, we haven't had to put up with ****ing Dyche. 17 points from 16, hardly world beating.

You can't debate that he would sort things out at the club.

I'd be more than happy for NP to come back, sell the dead-wood, bring in whatever he can for a crack at the Championship again.

It's the lift the club needs. Bring back Shakey under NP and Steve Walsh also.

He isn’t leaving Bristol of his own accord. One of the best cities in the UK at a club where he’s clearly appreciated and is allowed to build something. Why would he throw all that away at his age?
