That it's still dragging on suggests it probably isn't Parker. I think the timing points to Maresca; the rumours have accelerated since the CL Final and Manchester City's season has therefore ended. They've also coincided with it looking likely that Rodgers goes back to Celtic; have they found out their first target is going elsewhere and they're going for the safe, but unimaginative, emergency choice who just happens to be unemployed?
