He’ll no doubt test the waters with Iversen but it wouldn’t surprise me if Zack Steffen or James Trafford end up joining.

What scares me is that Ward isn't actually that bad with his feet so he might give him a go. The issue is he's just bad at everything else.

Reminds me of when we first hired Pearson in terms of a proven very good coach and assistant manager who’d had very little managerial experience.

Plenty including myself were underwhelmed with that too. But it’s better to have an unproven gamble than a proven circus in Parker or Gerrard

James Trafford would be a great signing, looks a very talented keeper and given he is at Man City will be comfortable playing out from the back and therefore distribution should be decent.

The thing is though, we have three goalkeepers so at least one will have to make way and I can't see there being much interest in any of them.

I wonder who his assistant will be.

This will be very interesting. As somebody else has mentioned, Pearson surrounded himself with staff that turned out to be incredibly good in their field.

It can't be easy getting this right at the start of your managerial career and I suspect lessons are learned on the way but he's worked with some pretty influential managers and coaches in the past.

One who I think might be involved is: Nicola Caccia. Worked with him at Sevilla under Montella and is currently out of work, has a pretty good level of experience at some big clubs over the years.

This has also crossed my mind too.

The joke has been said, we do like a poundshop version

Maguire - Souttar

Mahrez - Ghezzal

Kante - Mendy

and now we have poundshop Pep, yes he'll look sexy in the dugout, we can pretend we're Napoli or Inter, all i can say is i hope we get a couple of dynamite loans because this guy has no experience, to go from dossing about with De Bruyne and Haarland to Cairney and Yates.

He may be attractive to some thinking of leaving though but I hope we have a decent way to get rid if we bomb

It's all making a bit more sense to be honest. Trafford isn't going back out on loan, ITK said we'd made a GK enquiry and now Maresca is coming in. Get the feeling this has been a done deal for a while, he's just been sobering up like the rest of the city lads lol

I’d fancy Jakub Stolarczyk to be in goal for us next season. His distribution is miles ahead of Iversen’s and unlike Ward he can actually keep the ball out of the net.

The problem with playing Ward is that he gets your team relegated.

Wagner had him at Huddersfield and was quite successful with him. Maybe he takes him off us.

He's actually very sexy for a bald man, a better shaped head than Esteban.

I’ll have none of that talk about being on Esteban’s level of head shape!!!

Except Pearson had already performed mini miracles to keep both Carlisle and Southampton up on short-term contracts.

Also we were a completely different club to where we are now in terms of size and expectation.  I can guarantee that any other club who sees themselves as big and with such a high expectation to go straight back up would be nowhere near an inexperienced manager who has only had one job and failed miserably at that.

I wonder if the Bournemouth assistant manager Jason Tindall was up for the job whether people would be so happy to jump on board (yet another assistant manager who failed in a manager role).  But hey ho he is Italian so must be great and exciting.
