2023 Newcastle United make the champions league... 2024 Aston Villa make the champions league... while Man Utd, Spuds and Chelsea miss out you know what this means...

European Super League - the key questions: What is it? Who is involved ...

CL was pretty much gone but they did OK tonight and made Man City work really hard.

Pissing off your rivals is one of the best things in football - apart from achieving yourself( which they dont)

Don't blame them one bit as they'd have it in their face for ages from the Gooners

But was not gone. It's tragic.

What does he expect from one of the worst fan bases in English football. Join a broken gutless club, don’t expect them to change their spots overnight. Spurs forum full of ‘fans’ pissed with him that he didn’t want to throw the game. Pathetic bunch.

Fans would rather throw the game rather than give CL a go. Then complain they don’t have a winning mentality.

Very small minded fans and a bit twisted by the rivalry with Arsenal.

Tottenham fans wanted to win and try and get CL football. Any of them pretending they're happy they lost is sour grapes.

We will most likely be more recent winners of the league than Arsenal, after Sunday. I’m delighted.

Biggest reason why I didn't want Arsenal winning the league

Thought spurs had won the league after they beat sheff Utd at home after about 6 games in the 159 th min when they all got excited and got the family on the pitch . Villa a bit lucky in the end that’s no one wanted to win more than 1 game every 3 months to catch them but fair play.

Fair play to Villa though. Yes they've had a bit of luck along the way but shown resilience to get over the line unlike our bottlejobs under Brendan

It's not luck over the course of a season. Emery has done an incredible job, well done to them, 41 years since their last campaign I think I read.

Although we bottled it, we also did win a major trophy. I prefer having the trophy and, lets be honest, Villa (fans, players, staff) will want to win a trophy soon.

Do we want to see Man Saudi Arabia City to win an unprecedented 4 in a row or  The Arse" we celebrate when we want" to win a first since Jattdogg started w@nking off?

Villa and Newcastle from last season shows that with good but limited squads, getting the “job done” is very much a thing with a capable manager.

Poor management really cost us. Games like Watford away, Brighton at home (remember that ridiculous line up) and Bournemouth. Really cost us. Makes you think what if we had a half decent manager what might have been.

The fact it all boiled down to one result for us in the end makes it that much worse. Ample opportunities to get the job done

Two games over two seasons cost us

We only needed a point in 20/1 too

They just need to spend another £1b or so in an attempt to buy the title.... they'll get there!

There was genuinely a mix though wasn't there. If we had a rivalry anywhere near it, I'm sure more of our fans would understand it too.

I cba with Man City winning anything, can't stand them, but got to give it to Pep. 4 in a row. Probably 5 next season as well. Great achievement.

I do get the hatred for each other but singing "are you watching Arsenal" when your own team is losing 1-0. Weird mentality. No wonder they don't win anything and no wonder managers go there and end up pissed off (just like Ange seems to be now).

Ange is pissed off because he isn't a Spurs fan and has worked hard all season to try and make CL football, just like the players who would all leave Spurs for a team making CL football regularly. Of course his mentality is different to fans that treat it as entertainment.

If you're not going to win, the next best thing is to win having fun and if that's at your arch rivals expense then even better.

CL football is good for Spurs fans, but it's not exactly new or worth the lifetime of shit they would get for gifting Arsenal the title. I just completely understand it. It might be different if say it was Portsmouth and Southampton where Portsmouth had the chance to be in the CL for the first time, but even then you would likely get a similar feeling as we've seen with this one.

For me, It's not a Spurs 'as a club' type mentality, it's just a big rivalry mentality. It just so happens that Spurs often disappoint so people are connecting the two.

Incredible that Villa were only just above us in the table when they sacked Gerrard.

amazing that, the Villa board had the balls to get rid of Gerrard while we just stuck with Rodgers,

Emery showing hes a top coach imo

really hope Man City win the league, Arsenal fans have got to be some of the worse on social media
