We are unique in that respect, and bigger clubs than us have either won nothing in that time or next to nothing (eg Spurs only trophy in that period is 1 league cup).

But to put the West Ham thing in to context, in that competition they beat Larnaca, Gent and AZ Alkmaar to get to the final. I can only compare it to us - Rennes, PSV and Roma… Wouldn’t you have expected West Ham to get to the final? And to be honest they got a little lucky last night. Fair play to them though, like you say a trophy is a trophy.

Oh completely agree.....Europa Conference League is a very very minor trophy but its all West Ham are capable of winning.....they're a million miles away from winning any domestic honours

We'd have had a better chance of winning more things if we didn't have a near-negligent owner and incompetent DoF. We finished 4 points behind West Ham in 21-22, it could easily have been us but the coaching, recruitment and medical departments were inept.

Small margins mate but plenty of clubs supporters would happily swap places with us...even now after relegation

All strengths before that furry white mould Rodgers touched them. He was given the run of the place. Perhaps this is what you get when your chairman is for the most part absent in person.

I think the players also played a major part in us winning fcuk all and getting relegated

Its irrelevant now, we are beginning to osund like Forest Fans, remember the good old days!

Now we are shit in a mess and seamingly heading for League 1 at an alarming rate, the present and the future are what matters and at present this club is heading catastophically in the wrong direction ran by an absolute clueless idiot...Jon Rudkin.

Only 6 clubs have won the PL, FA cup and League cup in the PL era.

We have done very well to be in that group.

And Community Shield.

Easily sniffed at but it's a trophy specifically to be contested by Champions in England and we've won it.

It dawned on me last night that winning trophies for any club is a very very rare thing. 43 years since West Ham won the FA Cup....43 years...let that sink in.....we've won 2 league cups, 1 Premier League, Community Shield and an FA Cup in that time.

It might sound defeatist but its more realistic that we won't win any major silverware for as long as I live (I'm 44 now) so you can do the math.

Just appreciate what we witnessed over the past 9 years....it will probably never be that good ever again.

Not just the last 43 years but the first of those trophies you mentioned was only 26 years ago.

We're the 6th most successful English club in the PL era, despite spending a good chunk of that time outside of the top tier.

Many of these clubs we compare ourselves against, who are bigger in reputation but haven't the recent history in terms of trophies (Spurs, West Ham, Newcastle, Everton, etc.) have probably spent too long just focusing on remaining in the league as if that's an achievement in itself worthy of an honour.

Football is meant to be cyclical. Even the top six should be in danger of relegation from time to time but the money involved means that relegation is 'catastrophic' for any team.

Well, this journey we're on could see us enter League One again if they really mess things up, but you can guarantee this club will fight its way back up again - and when it's up we'll fight to remain in the division and challenge for a pot if we can.

I grew with 'Keep the Faith' and 'Foxes Never Quit' as fans' mottos. Quite why the club didn't keep 'Fearless' I'll never know. But those three statements epitomise everything good that this club has achieved since I was first aware it existed (Swindon playoff final 1993).

Yeah but they're downstream of coaching and recruitment.

Very good points made. I started supporting Leicester in 1963. From then until 1997 only the then less regarded League Cup won in 64 and Charity Shield in 71 (invited to take part as 2nd Division Champs) To win the League twice in 97 and 2000 was almost delierous levels of celebration. 2014-21 is without doubt the golden age of our club. I sincerely hope for young fans and fans of the future we can dig out at least one trophy in their supporting lives.

We'd won that before we won the league.

Re: the league cup wins - out of all of them the best we played was against Spurs. They mugged us that day.

Horrendous for me personally. I was working in a bar, which was owned by two Spurs fans. At the end of the night clean up they chanted, “Leicester clean our floor” mercilessly! 😂

We've had success and in some ways got use to it that's why it is so difficult to accept our current plight.

Yep. We've been amazing for the past decade. Hope we can return to the promised land at the first opportunity. We need to turn this negative into a positive, a la Burnley, and smash this season out the park.

None of that matters, they have won a trophy which is the memory they will cherish forever. It's akin to those saying we 'only' won the league because the traditional top teams were in a transition phase at the time. I could not care if our opponents were all playing with one leg, we won it.

Also for further context, we were the favourites last season to win the Europa League, then got bundled out at the group stage into the conference cup. With our resources we should have won that cup at a canter.

We were joint favourites with Napoli to win the thing

One club pushes on and wins the league the next season

The other congratulates itself on getting to the semi final of a competition it got relegated into and got relegated from its domestic league the next season.

Fwiw we should have got to the final at least in 2021 too , Prague, Rangers , Arsenal and Villarreal was as easy draw as you’ll get
