But the point still stands, we built a system that suited Jamie Vardy because he was our best attacking outlet. When he began to fade why didn't we do the same for Kelechi Iheanacho, or even more to the point, when we saw Vardy not being able to play every game/his levels start to decline didn't we have a plan B that suited Kel?

The fact is he has always been on the periphery because he hasn't shown the ability / consistency to be our first choice striker. I don't know what anyone has watched to suggest he has? Occasional flashes haven't been enough for him to really cement a place and now he's in the last year of his contract, possibly walking for free at the end of the season.

Twice he got a run of games and both times he started banging in goals. Did you miss all of that? Like someone just said, he's here and the other bloke ain't. Without doubt now there's going to be some people on this thread actually hoping he does mess up and not score buckets to prove a point

"Banging in goals" is a bit much, mate. He's scored 56 goals in 210 games for us, 30 in 150 in the Premier League..

Banged that many in but it STILL wasn't enough to keep him in the side consistently.............

No one thinks Iheanacho is World class.

I am not sure anyone really believes he is a top Premier League striker either.

However, I think most feel he can, and will score goals in the Championship and is a step up from most the other Championship strikers in the league.

@LinekersLugs's is obviously triggered by anyone who believes this and labels us all as saying or believing Nacho is World class etc etc, to try prove some point.

The proof will be in the pudding, and lets hope Nacho can be a big success for us in the Championship and play a role in getting us promoted.

did you see the games where he started a run of games and started scoring all the time? whatever way you want to word it, you're adding 5 minutes off the bench as if he had a 90 minute run out. And if you recall, he got injured..

Opportunity missed. Good signing for Leeds.

Desperately need a striker before the window closes. Vardy is about cooked, Daka isn't good enough (and seems like Enzo knows it) and Iheanacho seems certain to be pinched.

Could be a long season if we are banking on midfielders scoring all the goals.

Iheanacho is statistically superior to Piroe and has sustained that against a considerably higher standard of opposition and as a bit part player in a pretty dire team over the last 18+ months.

Be interesting to see who gets more Championship goals this season.

lets not go closing threads, often these ones can be quite interesting to go back to later if the player in question ends up having a worldly time or a nightmare (and not for bickering about other players)
