Sir Shep Posted 8 July 2023 Posted 8 July 2023 If he's gone to Burnley then how is this still open? Unless he's being loaned to us after he's signed by Burnley. 1

fox_favourite Posted 20 July 2023 Posted 20 July 2023 Their record signing of £19m! Wow. Good signing for them but my word what a buy back clause. Ouch!
BKLFox Posted 20 July 2023 Posted 20 July 2023 (edited) How much do you think the buy back is? The 15m + 4m add-ons refers to Burnleys costs to Man C not the buy back surely. Edited 20 July 2023 by BKLFox 1

Muzzy_no7 Posted 20 July 2023 Posted 20 July 2023 Hahahaha that buy back is absolutely pants they may as well have loaned him. He will be back at Man City in 11 months.
JimJams Posted 20 July 2023 Posted 20 July 2023 The buyback is 3x the price paid. It was reported elsewhere, but yes, that write up is shite.
James_lcfc Posted 20 July 2023 Posted 20 July 2023 Suggests City weren’t overly keen on selling him but the money offered was too good. They’ll only buy him back if he ends up being world class anyway. You’d hope they wouldn’t buy back for £15m and then immediately sell for more. Seems a bit malicious 😅 The 20% sell on clause seems to indicate they wouldn’t I suppose.
Jimbo Posted 20 July 2023 Posted 20 July 2023 It's written in a rather poor way, but it's still pretty clear. Obviously not clear enough The buy back clause won't be what they paid for him, I've heard reports that it would be in the region of £45million but no one will ever really know
Sly Posted 20 July 2023 Posted 20 July 2023 Hold on….. So they’ve spent £19m on him. The Buyback Clause is £15m + £4m in add ons. Man City also get 20% of the next sale. So if they buy him for £15m now, they get £3m back due to the % of next sale. So he cost them £12m? They can then re-sell him again, to another club, hence not paying any further add ons? 1

The deal is £15m + £4m in add-ons, included in that deal is a 20% sell on fee and a buy back option
