I know I’ve got to whisper this very quietly…. But is he actually that good with his feet?

I swear our fans just got stained by how often kasper kicked it out of touch.

He is when there is someone able to actually receive it

When it is Soumare and Ndidi whose first touch is effectively their pass back it will make it look worse

He's incredibly composed and his passing ability in the first third is great. His longer range distribution isn't much good - is my reading of him

lol Hermansen is miles clear of Meslier.

First season Meslier broke through it looked like he would be the next big keeper imo, but he has gone significantly down hill.

Thats maybe where this talk has come from, we’ve seen him be incredible in the championship and then for half a season in the Premier League. In our situation, knowing what’s come before (not selling players at their peak and everything going to shit) i think it’s probably wise to take an offer of £25m plus for him. That’s maybe a little bit low, but a bad season in the championship could make that look enormous.

He injured his groin in November away at Newcastle he should have had the operation then not near the end of the season our medical team must have known how bad it was, that's what there paid for.

You may say £25m plus is low, but it would be around the top 10 highest fee ever for a goalkeeper.

I like Mads but I'm not sure he's at that level, so would be happy with 25 million.

The problem is we’ve seen this so many times before. The board will have a set expectation on his value and won’t budge on it. He is a good keeper no doubt but I’ve not noticed one as injury prone bar maybe Allison.
I fear we’ll keep turning down ‘modest’ bids for him, and if we don’t go straight back up (very likely imo) he’ll eventually leave for not much more or less than we paid for him or on a free like has been the case on so many before.

With his injury record and form drops so far with us I’d be taking anything above 10m

I know, if I’m honest I think I said that figure to prevent a pile on, but I do think there is a bit of a perfect storm meaning we might be able to get that. Although, being in the championship and everyone knowing we are utterly ****ed probably shits all over that.

Cracking shout tbf very similar goalkeeper

No it's an awful take. Absolutely no-one saying this when he saved a record number of shots vs Arsenal and was single handedly keeping scores respectable back in the few weeks.

Undeniable whether due to his injury or Ruud's arrival he's not been on top form since the turn of the year but compared to someone like Meslier that shits his pants on every cross he's a world ahead.

I don't think Meslier is as good as is made out.

Leeds will try and ship him out this summer. Too many blunders.

I agree, hence why he was dropped this season.

I recon we can still get a good fee, whilst having Stol ready to come into the first 11 next season.

This injury sounds like its 'sorting the injury out so he's 100%' when he does move on. Rather than he has an operation after the season ends, but is injured when teams are looking at buying him.

Off the back of that utterly abhorrent, cursed, royal stinker of a take that somehow Meslier and Mads are comparable.....I'm taking a break from FoxesTalk. Can't continue like this guys :teehee:

If we was in the prem I'd agree, but relegation I think forces the sale as Mads is one of a few we could make decent money on.

Mads is a top keeper and will be a Top Top Keeper I think.

Helped us get lots of our points early on, his form has dropped off like everyones, but being injured makes sense.

We paid 7m I think I'd have thought we'd get £20 million + At his age it would be a bargain.

Mads has, rightly so, had a lot of praise since his arrival.

Meslier also had similar praise earlier in

his career.

Since Xmas, whether it’s down to the injury or not Mads has been below average.

I get the point it’s behind a horrendous defence but then again so has Meslier. Leeds defence has been awful at times and they’ve chocked on numerous occasions in that league.

Im by no means saying that the two of them are of similar value or that I wouldn’t have Mads over Meslier. Of course I’d have Mads.

But they are similar goalkeepers in that they are good with their feet, fantastic shot stoppers and yet have both been poor for long periods and not commanded their areas or defence.

After the Liverpool game he made a point of coming round and applauding the fans on his own. I did wonder if it might be his last game at the KP. Surprised they even bothered against Wolves.

Strange they have been nursing an injury, especially after Jakub looked pretty decent in his last few games.

Presume all prep for him to be sold. I expect everyone knows who it is already.

He's looked very suspect of late but there's definitely a brilliant GK in there and I'd have to say that hes one of the few players who'd look at home in the Prem.

Shame to lose him, but not irreplaceable. I'd put Jakub back in goal and soon forget about Mads.

Chelsea paid £25m ish for Jorgensen and Southampton about £20m for Ramsdale recently. We have to hold out for £30m+ given how rare a combination of competent shotstopping and ball playing ability are.

There's some very bitter people on here. He single-handedly stopped us conceding an embarrassing amount earlier on in the season. Given he was injured earlier on in the season and we have form for playing players through injury it's not surprising he hasn't been at the same level. I'll wish him well.

He's probably in the top two or three least deserving of blame. He's not been "shite" at any point since he joined, as some have suggested. He has had a ridiculous amount of work to do and couldn't keep it going forever.

Looks like Danny boy is ready for the burial at sea. Weigh him down with the ball that's about to cross the line (fill the ball with the dirt from the pitch that he has desecrated so many times) and let him loose. Amen.

Disgusting lack of respect for Mads. Meslier is horrendous.

I'd honestly back myself for this.

When Meslier came onto the scene, he was incredibly highly rated by Leeds fans. Then spent most of the end of the season when they were in the Prem picking the ball out the back of the net.

Hermansen had a few good saves this season against high profile teams, but in the games that's mattered he's been nowhere.

He's a player we should 100% cash in on, rip another team off for a decent whack of money and use Stolarcyzk.

Bottom for launched in the league for passes over 40 feet
