Speaking as someone who doesn’t want him anywhere near the side, he was excellent tonight. The best player on the pitch by a country mile. (Bar that abomination of a corner.)

Skipp motm for me

Needs to play well to maximise his chances of getting a reasonable contract elsewhere in the summer. These better performances aren't for his love of Leicester but if it helps us get out of our current predicament then I'm not going to moan about it

Lots of comments from the king power flag huggers - winks has been one of the biggest issues this season

he’s got 14 games that’s if he dosent throw his toys out the pram again

14 games to worm his way into a new contact

90 k per week - your having a laugh

We decided that corner was 3D chess

their best chance of scoring late was a break off our corner

Good yesterday.

Bit premature to call him the best midfielder in the league considering his average performance this season.

Yeah, we have a better midfielder than Winks ourselves. Unfortunately he is injured….

Our best player in the middle, controls the tempo which allows others to flourish. Keep us up Harry, put yourself in the shop window and part in the summer with our best wishes.

In James and Winks we arguably have the two best midfielders in the league. When James returns I think we'll start dominating every team we play.

Big Faes energy last night losing his man for their goal and then throwing his arms around when they scored.

To be fair, after that pass from Okoli I would have thrown my arms around.

And even Skipp is playing well and arguably in that conversation as well. As he should be having played at a higher level and what he cost of course. It’s a nice problem to have.

Do we think Winks has the skill set to play the Maresca 8 type? James definitely does.

James - Skipp - Winks

Fatawu - Mukasa - Mavididi/Monga

From what I've seen I'd have Hayden Hackney right up there amongst the best midfielders in this league

Exactly the sort of player we should have been going for the summer before last, would have probably cost £10M less than Skipp.

I was actually thinking about this earlier. How do we fit James in now (which we have to) if we're playing 4231 with Skipp, Winks and Mukasa.

Winks is fantastic at controlling a game, much better ball player than Skipp but Skipp is much better defensively. Winks does put his foot in, makes a few tackles and interception but I don't think our back four is good enough for him to be our only cover.

To get the best out of JJ we need to give him the freedom to get forward which means the other centre mid really needs to be holding back and Skipp (especially if he plays like last night) is probably your man for that.

Maybe we play Mukasa up top and JJ as the attacking midfielder? That probably gets all of our best players on but then we're really lacking pace.

Dunno. It's a tough one with no ideal solution. Ultimately all four of them probably can't play together and so we're probably going to have one of our better players (didn't think I'd be saying that about Skipp...) on the bench while some dross starts.

Not a fan of the way he has conducted himself the past 18 months, in an ideal world he's banished to the reserves and we never see his face again.

However in reality a committed and motivated Harry Winks is one of the better midfielders in the league. If Rowett can get a tune out of him for the next couple of months, we're just going to have to hold our noses and suck it up if it gives us the best chance of staying up. I don't particularly care what his motivation is, we're not in a position to cut off our nose to spite our face.

After that he can f**k off and sit on Brentford's bench and we can all forget he ever played for us.

I think Mukasa would probably be a decent target man if we wanted him and James in the same team.. He's definitely not fast, but he's fairly strong and so intelligent. He plays the ball first time a lot, regardless of the height or angle the ball comes at him. Compare that to watching Ayew take 800 touches when there's a very obvious pass to a man in a good position. I thought he led the press quite well yesterday as well and was even signaling to the team to push on at times when we were slow getting up to them.

Him and James could probably link up quite well, would certainly be trying it out in training anyway.

A lot of remaining games, I think we'd probably expect to have a good portion of the ball, so I think that negates the need for pace a bit. Probably only Ipswich away where you'd choose Daka purely to keep that threat for their defence.

Shame we've not got a Wilf. Mukasa and James doing the Maddison/Tielemans 8 roles would be beautiful.

Unless our new technical director is a big fan and tries to persuade him to stay on

Let him be MOTM for the remainder of the season and help us avoid relegation.

THEN HE CAN FECK RIGHT OFF THE MARDY CVNT!!!

He needs to go in the summer, but if the manager has him ready to play well, and as long as he does play well, then fair enough play him, but the moment his head drops again, he needs to be replaced.

Pep says, "Divine played unbelievable, he’s an incredibly top player in the pockets, in the striker [position], has a good sense."

So yes I'd play him as striker
