Nice bloke but a complete loser - You'll get no where with him in midfield

Don't disagree with that at all. I just wouldn't put him in the same bracket as Winks.

The club should be preparing players for this type of situation. To ease the tension, to accept that fans are angry, but to talk calmly with them. They would still be tossers, but they'd be able to claim some moral high ground. It never looks good for a player to be mouthing off to fans.

Either he's the unluckiest guy in football, or he's a complete ****. Seems like absolutely everyone hates him. First player to be paid £80k pw in Championship and League 1? Nice to have a record breaker on our books, even if it's not quite Vardy's 11 goal streak.

Possibly one of the most hated players to play for this football club? I hate Wise but I think Winks can fall under the same breath.

Part of the problem is us being so above every other team in the division last time that we thought giving it Winks to dictate everything was some sort of Pep/Cruyff masterclass in action.

We had great players last time that had an incentive.Even under Enzo we were being worked out. You always need other ideas.

The fact we think we can play like this 23rd in the league, and the fact we will still continue to run out club into the ground playing like this is one of many reasons we might no exist soon.

Thank you Rudkin. Thank you King Power.

It's depressing to think Winks' contract extension was triggered so we've got him till June 27 and right now, I can't work out whether I absolutely want rid, or whether I'd prefer that he is forced to be a League 1 footballer for a season.

Absolutely this. If we could afford it, the best approach would be to let him rot.

In reality, he probably gets another club at a reasonable level.

It’s very harsh on Skipp. I’d rather have a team of Skipp’s than a team of Winks’. His attitude and application is above and beyond pretty much everyone’s in this squad.

I think there's a genuine case, for what little it's worth, for Skipp being one of our best three performers this season. Mostly awful, granted, and leagues below James, but even so.

He was dropped today, of course, in favour of two players whose presence in the side, statistically and factually, makes us vastly less likely to get a result. Decisions which, for me, neatly sum up how unable Rowett has been to grasp the reason for our malaise. And which, in addition to the complete void of new ideas throughout his tenure, have rendered him the least significant manager in our entire history.

In the 1980s the Tory government supposedly responded to social problems in Liverpool with a policy of 'managed decline'. That's what the Rowett reign has felt like to me. There's no point in searching for solutions, let's just try to reduce the damage.

Winks is great when things are going well and you've got someone else in midfield who will do the work for him. But in a relegation fight a disaster. A spoilt brat.

Winks is a wet wipe, no doubt. But if people can shout abuse at him, he's entitled to give it back too.

People shouting abuse at you is part and parcel of being a professional footballer. Clearly he doesn't have the ability for this level but it also appears that he doesn't have the mentality either.

I could always see him going up to one of the Glasgow teams but if he can't handle our fans, he would be eaten alive up here.

All said and done he's technically a good player but he's the last man you need in a relegation fight (Sampdoria went well...).  The fact he's shown more passion in that 5 second clip at his own fans than he has on the pitch all season epitomises the club.  Time to drain the swamp of mercenaries taking their massive pay days and build with league 1 / championship experience and fight.

Completely agree. I’ve been saying the same about Skipps effort for a while on here, but some others laughed and said Winks is much better and should always start before Skipp.

If the others had put as much effort in we’d be mid table comfortably ( just like those teams we’ve lost to and who have players with his application and team spirit). We could have seen this season out and look to bring in the right type of players and some academy lads in the summer.

The talent this guy has vs his application is like going home with Dua Lipa and waking up with Linda La Hughes.

He belittled Cooper in public, he threw a wobbly at RVN because he didn't want to stay at the training ground (I was on his side with that one tbh) and he's wanted away for a long time.

He scores a goal every now and again and roars at the fans as if he cares but his performances say otherwise. Should've sold him in January 2025 after the 'Enzo we miss you' sign.

Thanks for 23/24, I enjoyed that Harry Winks. But now he's part of our worst side ever. And I include the last squad that went down to L1. It wasn't as talented but it was disjointed and most of those lads tried and gave a damn. This is a whole new level of depressing as most of these boys shouldn't be in this situation if factor in talent alone.

How can you defend him when he wouldn't stay at the training ground for 1 night a week before a game ? The salary he is on and to do that is just unbelievable. I'm damn sure I would stay in a luxury hotel like accomodation for 1 night. After all it's not a bloody travel lodge. He can rot in hell as far as I'm concerned
