Will we get a buyer that wants to pay that for him though?

I could see us going as low as £20m, I think someone would definitely take him at that price and I think we need to. If not him then one of the other two. Who would you rather sell at that price out of those 3?

Even then, if that's the sort of price we can get and the sale of other players in the squad isn't going great (and let's face it, that's a real possibility) we may have to sell all 3 for something around that price.

I think 20 is the max we get for mads to be honest.

The idea of settling for what we've got because we've ****ed up financially scares the shit out of me. We made an enormous error in not replacing Kasper which most definitely alone would have kept us up.

If Mads goes, we need an experienced regular or previously regular goalkeeper to start / compete with Stolarczyk at the minimum. Do I trust Rudkin to do that? No why the **** would I after last time.

Not sure I agree we need to buy some sort of competition for him. He’s more than reliable enough. Go and get me LCFC player of the year 22/23, Alex Smithies on a free to sit on the bench or something.

In a world were Aaron Ramsdale sold for more than that, not once, not twice but 3 TIMES! I think that would be a very low evaluation for Mads.

Ramsdale is English and English players always go for far more than they should. He is worth more than 20 but we’ve been relegated, it’s hard to get decent fees especially as we need the dolla

The mistake we made was not keeping Kasper. Should have replaced Rodgers at the same time.

I don't think this is as true anymore as it once was. However, Rudkin and that

Agreed, the fact we had issues with Ward was mostly down to managers picking him, not that we had no other options.

Yesterday was definitely the poorest his distribution has been so far I think

Just seemed to be way more nervous than usual

I do hope he gets given the first choice keeper role next season as I do really rate him but if whoever is in charge wants the keeper to be comfortable with their feet we might need to go into the market for a new keeper who can do that…

I'm not really bothered about him either way, but he's decent enough when we've got bigger fish to fry and other positions that are a bigger priority throughout the squad. Probably not as high a ceiling shot stopping wise as Mads and obviously worse with his feet.

Presuming Hermansen will be gone, Stolarczyk steps up, we sign a back up keeper and then have some other youth product as a 3rd choice. I'd rather that than spend funds on a new first choice keeper.

He was trying to do more. He was holding the ball for longer and the Ipswich players got wind of this and pressed him quickly. He will learn from it, and there are probably times he will just have to stick to the basics.

Many higher rated goalkeepers (Mads included) have got caught out doing the same.

Harsh imho. I think he has been better than Mads post Mads' injury. If you look at the PL as a whole, he is barely rated at all. He has a good career ahead of him but he needs game time.

Yeah definitely this on Sunday. Hard to tell if it was poor decision making on his part or coached and he's still not quite comfortable with it.

Don't think it was nerves but as @Chelmofoxpoints out, he was just holding onto it a bit longer. Distribution won't be as good as Mads but that's not such a bad thing as it might force him to go longer at times which mixes things up.

I don't think he is that rated to be overrated if that makes sense but his distribution and command of six yard box is questionable to me. That said, he has played less than 10 games for us. I think he'll be okay in the Championship.

I know he's been a bit lucky to not concede yesterday or Vs Soton. But his clean sheet record is very good. Even back to last season too. His total is 8 clean sheets in 19 games. Yes some were cup games but he's definitely good enough to be number one next season imo

Command of his box seems better than any keeper we've had recently. Seen him make plenty of good claims from crosses and corners

Not sure he is near top of any list being an issue, if Mads goes more than happy for him to step up. Young only played a few games in the most unforgiving of positions and we have kept 3 clean sheets all season and he was in goal for 2 of them. Kicking wasn't the best yesterday but still very comfortable catching long balls and collecting crosses and in his defence with the calibre of opposition our centre halfs probably don't give off much confidence

Tell you what though, bit of summer homework, distribution has always been a bit questionable though thats not what he is there for BUT it was shocking yesterday.  And he's had other games like that, bit of a liability on that front.

Distribution was shocking, but so was Kasper Schmeichel's yet he was a fantastic keeper.

Id happily take Stolarczyk as No.1 next season then reassess if promoted dependant on how hes performed / developed.

Mads is great, but I've already convinced myself that hes gone.
