7, yeah 7 people agreed with this comment by the way.

lol

I never understood the love in for him. Yet again people watching football based on stats which seems the norm now. He makes mistakes time and time again.

I think we should be utilising academy players as we probably won’t have money to spend and will be a championship club for years to come.

I also think Stolarczyk isn’t the answer.

I hate how weird the discourse around the academy has become on here

It's simple really. Play the academy if they are good enough to play.

Unfortunately this lad may swing in a few good balls in the pre-match warmup but not ready for the first team week in week out!

According to some you are either one extreme or the other

ah I see the thick reactionaries will be out in great force today. Look no one is saying he is the next Petr Czech  but with a shakey back four in front of him and the supposedly senior CB giving the ball away for them to score in the first half, its not really super suprising his confidence is super low

Agree that having such a poor and inconsistent backline doesn’t help, although it also works the other way too - when you have a GK who is all over the place shows very little command, your backline also shows the lack of trust to their GK too

We had Okoli and Nelson as a CB pairing that everyone has been demanding 🤷‍♂️

Lad seems to have no confidence in his defenders, and he’d be right with the shit show in front of him. The longer time is going on the worse he is looking. Needs taking out this hideous team for a while.

I like to see academy players given the chance because I think over the next few seasons we are going to need them. It really is as simple as that

The problem with being a keeper is, there's only so much you can add to a team by being brilliant. It's a lot easier to cost points with simple lapses, than it is to earn them with brilliance.

He has the brilliance in him, but it means nothing if you gift a goal a game.

It's a bit like golf in that the key to good golf, is boring golf. What good is a 300 yard drive if you shank the next shot?

Would help if he actually communicated with them.

I thought the second goal today is a perfect example of the effort our squad put in and how little they give a damn

He literally just steps of his line and actually made no attempt to go to the ball and just expects it to land in his hands.

I'm not sure whether to be infuriated with him or is it the fact we refuse to cross the ball or get attackers in the box and poor Jakub has been training just uncontested balls as even in training our players make no effort to get onto the end of anything

Very true. Totally half hearted. Which is a fitting label for our team and club these days.

The one thing he was praised for earlier in the season - coming out for crosses etc. - has gone to absolute shit. Seems like he wants to come out for everything now to try and make up for it but he just doesn’t seem forceful enough

He never was comfortable on the ball and the palming balls back into space

Pretty sure that the stats now show he is at fault for more goals than he has prevented, so even that can’t be used to defend him

Begovic was okay during his stint but his reactions at times looked a bit slow - he also isn’t comfortable on the ball so if Martí asks him to play that way it will just be asking for trouble

Vieites just seems like a completely pointless signing

Realistically we need a new keeper - can’t see it happening though

Thick🤣it’s a football forum and we have a keeper who is gifting a goal a game, what were you expecting?

Not good enough to be number 1

We all knew it in our hearts and today and last few games have made it obvious.

Fully agree. Out of his depth at this level. Think he’s been poor all season, you just know he’s got mistakes in him every game and just hope we get away with them without conceding.

Obviously the defenders in front of him don’t help as proven today by Okoli, but got their second goal he should have gone through everybody to get that ball; in my opinion lacks the courage and ability to read the game to be a decent keeper.

Probably too nice.

Sounds like I’m just beating a man while he is down now but i called us conceding a second in the exact manner we conceded it about 30 seconds before we did.

I’ve had people argue that we should keep him in to as we could sell him on for £20/£30m, we wouldn’t get £20 at the minute. His impact on the team is currently as bad as the worst version of Danny Ward.

He's having some stinkers and it's incredibly apparent how devoid we are of an organiser at the back.  At least one of your keeper or 2 CB's need to be constantly communicating throughout.  Do any of ours even whisper?
