He is a massive factor in why the season has been so bad. Positioning horrendous, butter fingers, no authority or leadership of the defence. Makes the wrong decisions near enough every game. Shakey goalkeeper creates a nervous team. Jigsaw Stolarczyk

Remember when some reckoned we wouldn't miss Hermansen and that Jakub was better lol

Same ones who were saying we wouldn't miss Maresca.

You could argue a large of part of our relegation was Hermansen's injury. Him coming off at Newcastle away really changed our season for the worse.

Does he actually catch anything because even shots straight at him he drops. And don't get me started on corners do they coach him on positioning because it doesn't look like it. He's f**king shit.

Prime Danny Ward for their 2nd.

The idea is that you use fast feet moving backwards and it should have been an easy save Not do a half hearted nothing leap and just let it go over you.

Dog shit again

Just for the record, that second goal of theirs was NOT Jakobs fault. He’s pulled left  to cover that side for the corner when it came in and there were TWO defenders who left the line and that side of the goal unguarded. We actually had 4 defenders in a small  area.  Watch the replay again and follow the defenders. I hate it when the GK gets the blame for things like that.

you can see how the defenders were all looking at each other.. it wasn’t Jakob they were annoyed with 21..  tha was Lascelles wasn’t it? He was the one on the line..

Jakob’s confidence looks shot, he nearly cost us a further goal when he came out of his area when it was clearly Nelson’s ball to play back to him. My only problem is I don’t think Beggo is much better. He’s another giant keeper who seems petrified to leave his line at set pieces and has a kicking ability that’s even worse than Stolarcyck and Preston’s Iversen.

He didn’t help himself by pointlessly diving miles from the ball rather than attempting to run to his back post to deflect it over tbf.

I'd bet luke Thomas's long throw ins in training go into the top corner of jakubs goal.

So he tries that in matches and opposition keeper grabs it in the air. Or centre halves head it out. Set piece coach shouts keep at it luke 1 in a million will result in a goal

He wouldn’t have got there in time. Too high.

To be honest don't really know what more he could've done for the goals today. First goal is unstoppable and the second is atrocious marking plus nobody alert on the back post.

This guy was only ever seen as decent because he was replacing one of the games worst ever keepers.

Another player who benefits from the club sinking so low we can't really afford anyone better.

Maybe if he wasn't stood touching distance from the back post he'd have had a chance of getting to a looping header back to the front post.

Woeful positioning.

Goalkeeping is all about anticipation and when it's done right, everything looks easy and the average fan doesn't notice the footwork and positioning involved.

Just ask yourself this: Should a looping header which crosses the line in slow motion result in a goal when it doesn't even cross the line close to the post?

You don't see it very often for a reason. Professional keepers are usually switched on enough to anticipate it and then either move two steps to catch it, or worst case back track and nudge it over the bar.

His footwork is also so far off anything that is trained into keepers. He practically takes a hop, skip and a jump to arrive at his back post (as opposed to the textbook controlled shuffle). You just can't change momentum and divert track quickly enough when you do what he did.

It really is amateur stuff and the kind of thing I'd have been disappointed to watch back if I'd done it when playing in the 10th tier.
