Just as bad as Danny Ward.

he’s actually a lot worse, which you would think was impossible.Rarely a game goes by when he doesn’t cost a goal

He won't be our first choice next season, regardless of which league we are in. There are plenty of decent keepers around, even in league 1.

To be honest don't really know what more he could've done for the goals today. First goal is unstoppable and the second is atrocious marking plus nobody alert on the back post.

The first goal being described as unstoppable makes it sound like a rocket lol

You could argue no shot is unstoppable. Placement wise, given it was off the bar, it would be amongst the hardest for a keeper to get to. The nature of the shot was more driven on the rise than a rocket type so not moving as fast.

We aren’t dealing with top level keepers in this league. I don’t think the first one is one to identify the keeper for criticism unless you have an agenda (talking generally not aiming at you) against Stolarcryk or are going to be hyper critical of any goal conceded.

Second goal, although I’d put Ricardo and the marking at more or equal fault, that is a lot fairer to look at Stolarcryk’s part in and identify that he could/should have done much better with.

I think you put a player on the near post to stay there until the corner is fully defended.  Ricardo was totally to blame imo.

Ricardo and Daka just stood and watched the ball. But no decent goalkeeper should be beaten like that.

I don't underatand why he has just dived into his goal and not even thrown his hands at their second. If he was stood upright and steps to his right he probably simply catches it.

He is a total bomb scare. When he charged at Nelson in 2nd half when Nelson was in complete control and wanted to nod it back to him. He gets all the basics so wrong.

If Kasper's injury does end his playing career bring him in next season as our goalkeeping coach it's a no brainier.

He wasn't great at commanding his area or kicking either but a great shot stopper. On yesterdays performance we sold the wrong keeper, no surprise there.

He looks very poor - especially on crosses.

Part of me thinks he could still come good and it could be a short term confidence thing after behind thrown in behind a calamitous defence.

Regardless, Begovic should be starting for the remainder of the season.

I am not sure he did much wrong yesterday. The first was a great strike. We should have brought one of their players down as soon as possible to stop the break, they would have, but we didn't.

The second, we didn't challenge for the header or seemingly have anyone on the post.

(Granted I haven't watched it back yet so going on what I remember).

The Ben Nelson one. It seems to happen a lot with Ben at the minute. Not a blame but an example that using young players in a relegation scrap is demanding for them.

I do however accept that alot of people have lost confidence in him, and that for me is the issue.

2 clean sheets recently though, so if he plays he gets my support.

Not sure the angles we see or any still photo gives a true picture of how he wasn’t getting that, looped well over him & out of his reach, Ricardo more at fault for moving if someone has to be blamed🤷‍♂️

All to easy to lay blame on any situation but if he was further to his right and the header puts it to his left the call is keeper beaten at his near post.

Same for the Ben mix up, had the attacker beaten Ben to the bounce and got through on goal, the shout would be where’s the keeper.

I dont think it really matters anymore. The first i watch Fatawu lose the ball unnecessarily when we were all high up the pitch (and stupidly rugby tackle their player rather than track back), Preston then cut through our midfield as if we have no players at all and not a single defender commits to anything. Moran is actually slipping when he strikes that and gets lucky with a thunder shot (imho) - he had no intention of putting it there. Everyone around me shouting 'Stolarzyk is useless!' - its as if noone watched any moment leading up to the goal.  The 2nd is rank from everyone, even leading up to the corner. How the heck Riccy gets a free pass drifting off the line and how 2 Preston players have the the far side of the box to themselves, i dont know.   His card is marked and hes getting Danny Ward levels of criticism (i genuinely think people have forgotten what Ward was actually like and also how much he cost). I do agree a more experienced Keeper is what we need right now but i watched Begovic give a horrific 2nd half display against Southampton - he's not the answer.

If Nelson / Jakub had done what the Preston players did for the first goal - you can imagine what the comments would be like.  When its like this, you know the player has to go.

Wtf was he doing that far off his line in the first place when he was no way near where their goal scorer was? His positioning is consistently horrific

Sensible and balanced post. It is absolutely true that Stolarczyk is playing well below the standard required at the moment and also not single him out as responsible for either goal yesterday. I think Jakub is too nice. He needs to grow a nasty bastard streak and call out some of the shitshow defending rather than applaud every basic tackle the defenders make.

Spot on.

Was it also Ricardo who lost it similar to Fatawu for the first goal, which led to the corner they scored from? Ricardo gets a massive free pass from most due to being a popular player. Literally Daka is getting more stick for the fact his goals were Preston mistakes than Ricardo does for shambolic defending.

Like you say, players get their card marked and that is their reputation until the day they leave. It is why Stolarcryk and Nelson who you also mention, need to go in the summer as they have no way back.

Lad's confidence is destroyed.

This will fall on deaf ears but a little bit of support for him wouldn't go amiss. It's in our own interests to give him lift.

But, nope, it'll be the usual 'he earns more in a month than I do in a year so he can fck off'

This 👏👏👏

This. I think people struggle to differentiate between awful players or ones just mentally shot and with no confidence.

Admittedly it could be the former with Stolarcryk. But if it was as simple as that, players would not move to other clubs and perform well.

Not really at fault for both goals but at the same time,I dont rate him as highly as others do on here,I have no confidence when he is starting in goal, play beg for rest of the  season,in summer need a new gk!!

I'm biased because I always liked him but if Gordon Banks had started his career behind this back four nobody would ever have heard of him.
