Can't see Doyle staying here. Either Man City start using him or he goes to a PL team (even if we do go up).

Doubt it, he has Gvardiol, Ake, Akanji and Sergio Gomez at Man City to compete with for the left side of their defence, and I can't think of any clubs that use the specialist role that he is playing for us here.

Makes perfect sense for him to join us permanently next summer.

Fingers crossed, he would be good for us long term.

I’d keep Vesty if he carries on with this level of form. Never thought I’d say that

I don’t think he is good enough for the Premier.

We're going to need solid Premier league level defenders. Why take a risk with Vesty? He's been good at Championship, but we can't make the same mistakes of the past.

Even Wout has to step up his game, which I think he has, because a big part of why we got relegated was our poor defense including the GK obviously.

If we go up, I'd be looking to keep Vardy and Ndidi for their experience and get Doyle, even if on loan again. The rest I'm not too bothered but Albrighton, like King, deserves special recognition of his efforts & achievements here. If not a testimonial then get him on the coaching staff. Players like that are the DNA of the club.

Vardy, Ndidi, Wanya and Nelson and make Abdul’s and Doyles loan permanent

Realistically paying more than 50k even next season if we were a prem club would be too much for Vardy, we need to move on at some stage, if a reasonable wage can be negotiated we could keep him much like Morgans last season.

I can't see any of the current crop of CBs being of the level we need for prem, that's Faes, Vesty, Coady we will probably need 2 starting CBs next season, Coady will no doubt be given an opportunity tho.

I think Faes definitely has the potential, he's the starter for Belgium and I don't want to judge him solely during a time where our whole dressing room was a mess. Not to mention, what sort of awful defensive tactics Rodgers might have instilled. Coupled with his low confidence resulting from those own goals, I can't slate him too much.

So I do think buying 1 elite tier CB and pairing him with Faes/Coady would be enough and cheaper than buying 2 decent CBs, which will also cause us to have an overload of centrebacks in the club.

Painful not to see Danny Ward on that list. Presume his expires in 2025?

Not many on that list I'd retain tbh. Ndidi maybe if his good form continues, Vardy if he accepts drastically reduced terms. Iheanacho would be a wait and see, though his start to this season has been largely sub standard.

Vardy - decision later. He’s looking bright again. Could keep him if wages are reasonable?

It will be another high turnover summer i imagine. Which is welcome.

Priorities if we go up I imagine would be a new striker made for this football and perhaps a couple of new number 8s.

Wingers also considering we only own two as it stands.

We would need a new CB also.

Well he won’t have a choice if his contract is up…he can’t command 100k a week unless someone is willing to pay him 100k a week lol

I have read comments on several threads about contracts ending in 2024. There are 15 according to the FT players page.

Loans     Doyle Casadei  Akgun  Fatawu

Permanant         Albrighton  Vardy  Smithies  Iheanacho  Choudhury  Vestergarrd  Ndidi  Praet  Thomas  Nelson

                             Marcal-Madivadua

Depending on what division we are in how many deserve a new contract ?

We also need to consider from commercial standpoint to preserve value of our investment. We can’t keep letting 10 plus players go on a free each season with fans then expecting big money signings.

Also, what did I say about culture? What did Pearson say?  Some fans are so quick to rid the club of what has made us great and given us the success we had. The values we had and the togetherness. The never say die attitude.

I'd like it if we extended both Iheanacho and Ndidi, then took up the options on Fatawu and Yunus.

The rest can leave.

Yunus has done precisely nothing to consider the option at this point

With Vestergaard it probably depends on how much we would get offered for him, can we get a replacement in for what I expect would probably be a low offer when he has just 6 months left - one of those where it might be best to just keep him especially if he keeps up this form

With Iheanacho if he doesn’t improve between now and January then I think we probably should be looking to get a fee for him, he really hasn’t impressed me so far and if he doesn’t improve quickly then I think Daka and when he is fit again Cannon should be getting chances ahead of him

I wonder if he'd have even started playing if Coady had been fully fit?

Fair lol

As @Stevosevicsays below though, at his age we have the upper hand. If he can get a deal in the US or somewhere (he already said no to Saudi) then thank him for service and memories we never thought we’d get when we paid £1mill for him and move on.

But yeah, maybe he won’t be able to be too demanding for his next contract….

Fatawu and Yunus we are obligated to sign if we go up and they both each make something like 25 appearances - I think there is a very very good chance Fatawu manages that, not sure if Yunus will - in which case I don’t think we would buy him - but still a very long season

Doyle I would loan him again or buy him which I think we could definitely do next summer if we wanted to, Casadei lets see how he does when he starts a few more games, again I think we could get him on loan again if we wanted

Thomas’s contract doesn’t end next summer according to his relative on here, which makes sense as we wouldn’t have just loaned him out if it did end then

New contracts for Ndidi, Nelson, and Wanya Marcal

Even if Vestergaard carries on this kind of form for the whole season I would still let him go

Smithies, Albrighton, Praet, Choudhury, Iheanacho can all leave

Honestly not a clue about Vardy, just one of those players I never want us to let go haha, try and keep him around as a player coach but I don’t think he will want to go that kind of route

Perfectly put, saved me typing it out, Fatawu is going to be a bit of a barsteward I reckon, Vardy should coach him on a one to one basis…

Mbappe looks a steal, be good if we can get him..

Also that Ndidi worth £25m I wonder if we have a chance of signing that guy

I think it’s early day on the loans I think we need to give it more time. Fatawu and Doyle look likely but the other two have also showed promise.

of the permanent guys a lot will depend how we are doing by Christmas. If we let them all go then we will have a lot of purchases to do should we get promotion and pay a premium. At the moment ndidi looks like the most likely given form. I’d like to keep Thomas Marcal and Nelson but the club will be watching more closely.

I love Vardy. One of my favourate of all times. Let’s see how he gets on again. Sooner or later he needs to move on to his next chapter. Similar thoughts apply to Marc. Kel Praet and Choudary’ even vesty could all do a job in some way and a lot will come down to negotiations. We can’t let all the work done on fixing the wage bill. I reckon at least half of them will be gone though so we will have another summer of incomings and outgoings.

I wouldn't be surprised if Thomas, Marcal and Nelson aren't exploring options away from Leicester, especially Nelson. He's been in and around the first team since he was 16, playing for England, and has only had 8 official minutes on the pitch. To top it off they have brought in Doyle and yet he is supposedly highly thought of but he is still only 19 and may yet feature in Doyles absence. Will Thomas get another look in?
