Telling that the supposed big contribution last season was heading balls off the line.

Not worth the money and hassle he brings but nobody will pay the transfer fee we'll likely demand or his wages.

Today was his 89th appearance for us and he had 36 for Watford, who didn’t want to sign him .I can seriously only remember in all them games only a handful at best where he’s had a decent game . And they were in the Championship

Liverpool at home when he had a blinder in defence?

I never said we need more players like Choudhury I just merely pointed out that versatile squad players are a necessity.

I can't see how academy players becoming first team players is a problem. I can only see the benefits not just in terms of money saving/making but in keeping future academy players at the club. If there is a route to having a chance in the first team they will stay. If that route is closed they will move on for next to nothing at 18.

Choudhury has cost the club very little. He is versatile and like it or not he is one of our own.

He was pushed out against a strong Newcastle midfield and it didn't work out yesterday. It was always going to be makeshift. However, as I said I'm glad it was him and not a young lad who'd never been in the first team squad before.

All your points are only valid if the player is actually GOOD ENOUGH though...

Versatile players are good to have but that's assuming they can do a job in multiple positions, he can't do a job in one!

Having academy players in your team is ideal but not if they aren't good enough.

He's cost is less than most but still more than he's worth because....

....HE'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Hamza has limited abilities, which I don't think anyone can deny, but he is one of our own homegrown players. Is there not a quota needed for homegrown players? That's probably why he's still here. It is a poor excuse to keep someone at the club, which I would agree, but we have a limited squad and have been extremely poor in recruiting replacements. Unless Ruud manages to find some gems in January, we have big concerns.

For the rest of the season, I don't think we should singly out players for their limited ability. I would like to see him sold in the summer and see the club bring in genuine contenders for first-team spots, not just players who make up numbers.

Last summer we bought Golding for £5m and I'm surprised he doesn't even make the bench. That is not against Golding that's me questioning our recruitment.

Our upcoming fixtures are a huge concern with the limited squad we got so we need to get behind fringe players like Hamza hoping for a miracle.

Hang on.

If Enzo was here (and as Ricky is injured) he'd be starting in the hybrid full back role! That's why he was given a contract last season.

He is good enough to be our 5th choice midfielder and we are lucky to have a squad player of his quality to call on. If we go down and have to sell he is also insurance.

I'm bored of this argument. This forum seems to have a real issue with academy players and all I'm trying to do is point out the merits of a strong academy.

No one is against having academy players in the squad. Idealy we would have a starting 11 of them. I just won't make excuses for a player BECAUSE he's an academy player!

If it was a young boy with room to improve, I could see why you would be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but he's 27 and hasn't improved in any way since he broke through.

He is our today’s Robbie Savage, limited in the technical aspects & needs to be used in the way that suits his attributes.

If he was told to man mark x star player id imagine he’d come away MotM or if told to cover the defence chopping in tackles he’ll have a decent game.

He couldn’t do that yesterday as him and Skipp were being played around by 3 Newcastle midfielders all who have good quality, Ruud probably should have made a tactical change earlier as their midfield just over run us.

Hamza needs 1 job, preferably in a 3 man midfield just like Savage with Lennon & Izzet

I'm not his Biggest fan, he was 0/10 yest and I think we've moved on from him and need to upgrade but to completely discredit him as a good  player for championship standard shows how dense our fanbase is or How many fans have memory loss issues we would have never been promoted if it werent for him.

To add last seasons defensive stats and all:

It isn't an unreasonable comparison but he's not anywhere near as good as Savage was.

He's simply not up to the standard we need now or in the future even if we are relegated.

There’s one out of 125 appearances

Just being pendantic- you said all Championship games. Probably his best for the club was the home win against Liverpool. I think he got motm? Weren’t we also weakened with injuries and expected to lose?
Anyway he isn’t showing enough to be a modern prem midfielder. I can see why managers might think from training sessions he can do a job as a dcm , but it doesn’t work often enough in actual matches. Shame as I always want local lads to do well.

I’ll never get over one episode when he took a throw in . Players were moving around like normal and he proceeds to throw the ball at a team mates back and it goes out of play and a throw in for the other team . School boy basics.

We know he's not good enough. That's why he's 3rd choice and barely plays. But what 3rd choice are we likely to get that's going to go toe to toe with Newcastle? He's had no game time this season, so i really don't know what anyone expected.

Pretty sure you know what people expect. :D

He's a training ground player.

Not good enough for premier level and can do a job at champonship level but realistically  he'd  excell  in League one.But for now he'll carry on taking our wages.

He did have a good game against Liverpool  once.

Apart from that he's making a good living.

Might just be me but why are the club making a thing of this? Fair play to him, but why would anyone else give a shit? Maybe I'm missing something and maybe there are some fans that would care about this but I absolutely couldn't give a flying fck what nationality he is 🤣

Large South Asian community in Leicester and he'll become Bangladesh's most high-profile international ever.
