Daggers Posted 1 January 2024 Posted 1 January 2024 We have to focus on coming second, not messing about with cups.
Popular Post bovril Posted 1 January 2024 Popular Post Posted 1 January 2024 Looking forward to this. The league campaign is a bit boring, in the best possible way, so a bit of cup jeopardy feels much needed. And I still think losing in the FA Cup 3rd round is one of the worst things in football. 8
FosseSpark Posted 1 January 2024 Posted 1 January 2024 7 changes for me. Rest plenty of players but get Casadei, Yunus and Cannon in a groove. Continue Doyles return from injury. Stolarczyk Ricardo Coady Nelson Doyle Choudhury Casadei Yunus Albrighton Cannon Wanya McAteer, 4
FoxesWalk Posted 1 January 2024 Posted 1 January 2024 Is there even a vague chance this will be televised?
Popular Post Dan Posted 1 January 2024 Popular Post Posted 1 January 2024 (edited) I think we're that far clear in the league that an FA Cup run wouldn't really knock us off our stride, plus the myth that being in the cup knackers your season is just propaganda spread by managers trying to hide their ineptness. I'd give some others a bit of a run out but Sheffield United made the semis last season and got automatically promoted. Lets get it won. Edited 1 January 2024 by Dan LCFC 9

Go in strong and rest in the league If you need to I’d love to see how we could get on against stronger sides and it’s a competition we could go well in too 1
Twitcher Posted 1 January 2024 Posted 1 January 2024 It's the FA Cup! I'll be disappointed if we don't put out a strong/our strongest eleven. A team that's only ever won it once should not be disrespecting the competition. Besides, Millwall are tricky, especially at home, and a defeat, even if not in the league, still knocks us out of our stride. As someone said above, going out in the 3rd round of the FA Cup is a horrible feeling. 1

It’s pretty common for teams to rotate.

I’m not suggesting complacency in the league, but I’d love to see a run in the cup… I very much doubt Enzo will see it that way round I’m suggesting, but I’d love it if he did!!!

Praet stubbed his toe on a blade of grass and it out for 3 months 3

Coventry are in form right now so it’s not a game to take lightly. Millwall were dirty bastards at the kp. We rotate in the cup game and leave the strongest for the league.

I don't think we need to go mad on the rotation. Only 4 more games in January. We are are back in game a week territory. I would say only players the definitely need a break are Madividi, Fatawua, Winks, Vestergaard and Faes and maybe Mads. Ricardo and JJ have been well juggled of the Xmas period, KDH had a rest today. Cannon, Casadei and Akgun need game time. Edited 1 January 2024 by coolhandfox 3
CloudFox Posted 1 January 2024 Posted 1 January 2024 Looking forward to this! First away game of the season 🥳
Pita Posted 1 January 2024 Posted 1 January 2024 Do we need to go for the cup. League much more important play a weak side and save the first team for the big games which matter
Number 6 Posted 1 January 2024 Posted 1 January 2024 As has been mentioned, I think it is worth giving a rest to certain people. Namely, Mads, Mavididi, Fatawu, Winks. But can mix that with getting minutes to those who need it and still play a strong side. It's not our priority, of course, but the cushion in the leagues means we can have a good go.
