George best was probably in the greatest too10 of all time with today’s conditions would be unstoppable. Only players to compare with him in my opinion would be Di Stefano Pele Maradona Cruyff maybe Messi

I think where Mahrez was at a slight disadvantage to all of the aforemetioned was that he never got the opportunity to shine internationally through representing a lesser footballing nation in Algeria - then again nor did 'Bestie' so much really re N.Ireland.

A half decent manager, with physically adept, willing players (and a couple of stand outs, probably in crossing positions) can win an international/continental competition if they are given loads of time with the players. Like Greece and Theo did. You can also have one stand out player and play give the ball to Ronaldo/Messi for several competitions until you finally win it.

if you’re the stand out player in a “lesser” footballing team, you better be a strong MF for all them tackles coming in ha ha

Still remember it to this day, bloke behind me a few rows back - his face is constantly red, think it's bad hypertension - he gave Mahrez a 30 second long boo, then a **** off you cvvvvnt, then came 10 or so steps down to get closer to the pitch and do it all again - think this was the first time he played at the KP after moving to Man City.

Doing this to probably one of our greatest ever players, mind boggles.

I'd usually be with you on this because I cannot stand these types of fan, it's worse when it's happened to players playing for us in the past.

But I'm fairness the way Mahrez conducted himself towards the end was a disgrace. Comparing himself to a slave was absurd.

Time has been a healer and he has said a lot of nice things about us since. It's nice to be able to just focus on what a great player he was for us now, but there was a lot of fans rightly angry at the way he forced his way out.

Shouldn't some of that anger be aimed at the club, if we're to believe what's been written wasn't he promised a transfer and the club went back on that promise.

We've all seen since how incompetent the club is with transfers so maybe there's more than a little truth in that promise.

But at the same time in fairness he had done his time here, we wouldn't of won the league without him and sometimes people in life say stuff they regret, its not a big deal.

Fans seem to think our players love the club and are Leicester through and through, we need to separate this as fans, it is a job for them - he had every right to go onto bigger and better things.

I'm sure he regret's the stuff he said, he is still a legend and alongside Vardy one of the greatest ever.

He was genuinely miles better than us, and why he is comfortably our most talented ever player. Not surprised in the end that after a great stint with us he thought it was time to move on.

As he famously said in his smoker voice "part of the game innit"

Probably due to the manner in which he left but even so, no excuse to have given him the grief that ijut did you mentioned, as you allude to....

Riyad Mahrez was an absolute privilege to watch here. The fact he played here, alongside Vardy and Kante was the greatest period this club ever had. His issue was with the club and ownership.

Genius player.

To be fair, Mahrez captained Algeria to the AFCON in 2019 and has appeared at World Cup. The snobbery speaks more for the failure to look at the wider world game.

Dont get me wrong Mahrez was quality best talent I’ve seen in 59 years of watching Leicester.

In a 4231:

Mahrez McAllister Weller

                Vardy

Not 100% wedded to Gary Mac as no.10. But he edges out Sammels, Draper & Maddison for me…

Weller’s in the Albrighton role

McAllister, I like. No Wortho? I'd prefer to play him as a number 10, rather than leave him out.

If we'd still been a Premier Lge team (had we miraculously stayed up last season) then it would've been great if we'd re-signed him for next season. Not sure how he's been doing in Saudi since he left Man City when he did TBH!

All about balance. Almost no one plays with two strikers now, and if there's to be only one, it has to be the GOAT!

Mind, having Wortho & Sir Gary on the bench ain't bad!

Our most technically gifted ever player.

Without Mahrez, Vardy doesn’t get half the goals he got.

They were such a well oiled machine together.

He was an exceptional talent and yes he may have wanted away, however you can’t begrudge people for wanting to better themselves and win things.

You can’t begrudge people question the how but sometimes people do things when they’re desperate.

Sammels and Kante

Then have a back 3

My opinion

the most skilful player I’ve ever seen

the x- factor

a first touch that no one comes close to

the ball to vards when we beat them 4-2 was it sat evening

pissing down a touch from the gods

when he clicked he was a magician for us & Man City
