Think maybe parents are a bit too namby pamby these days?

Summer Holidays when I was a kid I fooked off out at 8am, came back for tea and then fooked off out again until 10pm or later. The best of times and it kept mum and dad happy.

Every Xmas/birthday pressie I received as a nipper involved going out of the house & being active. Bike, Football, Football boots, cricket bat & ball etc.

When was the last time anyone went into a proper sports shop?

Do I sound old? Probably, but don't give a fvck, I lived through the golden years.

So does your user name come from how many pairs you were given in you younger years?

Don't see half as many kids walking to school anymore, and those who get the bus all seem to get a lift to the bus stop. Personally think that's 97% of the problem with traffic in this god forsaken city!

I take it you subsequently gained younger siblings?

May be a black-and-white image of 2 people, bicycle, Rijksmuseum, street and crowd

Bikes in the street without locks

No point nicking a bike when everyone had one and none of them were hybrid racing bikes costing thousands.

I think back then, your bike was a bit special if it had a dynamo to power the lights.

Yo-yos

I randomly drove past a guy yesterday with a yo-yo. He was walking down the street and just doing some tricks. He was on his own, no one else around, seemed a bit weird but he was quite good from what I could tell
