I played footy 5 days a week in some manner whether organized games or kicking about at a park with my siblings etc. When I wasn't playing footy, I was playing baseball, basketball, american football, biking or street hockey. Can't forget chasing after the punani without having to swipe left or right on an app. Real mack talk. Youth have 0 game these days!

I was going to suggest Eiderdowns + Blankets being replaced by Duvets but it seems you can still buy them.

Was talking to my 15 year old son about this.

I think it's so sad that most of his age group just sit on their arses playing games and pissing around on devices.

All I remember doing at that age is playing football after school, at weekends, and during holidays. Some days from dawn til dusk.

And what happened to wally and kerby street games?

We played most days after school, about 12-14 of us, all different ages. Pick teams and played until 6pm then back for dinner. In our village we were lucky enough to have goals with nets in as well.

Really sad to see young kids stuck indoors on their PS5 all day

I remember these being used as weapons in pub fights back in the early 70's

These are my favourite to drink a pint out of.

My local always asks if I want a handle glass or straight glass if I'm having an ale.

Kids playing football matches on the park after school

I see kids nowadays not even talking to each other. Passed two last week walking to school together but both had headphones in not talking. Confused me.

My lad is 8 next week and I’m dreading the day he wants to go down the park and play out without me or my partner with him.

The amount of stories you hear & read about young kids carrying knives is frightening. Then you have other things to worry about nonces, dangerous dogs (xl bullys mainly) no surprise parents would rather keep their kids in knowing they are safe.

My boys are both at the park every night after school playing football.

Don't even bother coming home to get changed first 🙄

I was playing footy on Viccy Park in the mid 60s and a javelin landed between my legs. That’s not going to happen today.

There’s always been bigger older lads giving it the big I am and flick knives were very popular along with knuckle dusters.

You’ve probably got a greater chance of being hit by a car on the way to the park.

It's quite nice to see on the little estate I live the kids playing out. You'll see them zoom past on their bikes/scooters, be ambling around playing or just not being in the house generally. They're all from the same area, too so it means that neighbours look out for them.

Even when they're being silly (sitting in the middle of the road, hanging off unsafe things) these are flagged in community chats with concern rather than anger. They're just kids innit.

I suspect when they're older this might change, but for now it's nice to see. I have to say around the whole area I live it's common to see youngsters out and about. Maybe it depends on the area you live sometimes.

We got a load of pervs looking through windows to see what kids are doing in their own home?

The entirety of my son's school seem to play on the park before and after school, as said above, guess it depends on the areas but I always see kids playing outdoors.

Think maybe parents are a bit too namby pamby these days?

Summer Holidays when I was a kid I fooked off out at 8am, came back for tea and then fooked off out again until 10pm or later. The best of times and it kept mum and dad happy.
