Not their fault, though. They're constantly being told it means less by pundits and managers like Klopp. Delighted he's going purely on the grounds that his annual whingefest about replays will stop.

You still see kids with tinfoil FA Cups at games and young lads invading pitches when lower league sides claim scalps. The magic is still there - it just needs those at the top to believe it too.

I think the authorities are as much to blame.Games same weekend as the finals, Semi-finals at Wembley, the list goes on.

Winner gets a CL place rather than 4th, up the prizes money, FA Cup only weeks.

It would be back in my view.

Maidstone United!!!!! Take a collective bow. Magnificent. I cannot wait to go to work on Monday. In Suffolk. Near Ipswich. With loads of Ipswich fans. Its going to be like shooting fish in a barrel. With a cannon!

Why would anyone have a red wall :frusty:

My mother-in-law's living room used to have bright red walls. I called it the murder room.

I was working with a Man Utd fan today (born in Leicester) and he said the FA Cup should be scrapped because it doesn't mean anything and isn't important.

Some people just don't understand football (they wouldn't support teams like Man U if they weren't Mancunian for starters!)

Did you tell him to go forth and multiply? Or just punch him in the face? Or both?

Should have just told him he looked like a typical Man U fan and smiled. Psyche the muppet.

He should be forced to watch Ipswich v Maidstone on repeat until he understands.

It means, every morsel of that romance, that some individuals in authority will never

understand…

Fa cup final should be reserved has the one game at Wembley.

It rules over the PL..

I prefer FA.cup winners in CL,taking the 4th spot,coming fourth

in PL means you missed out for top dreams…Euefa cup your reward.

which is also a decent challenge..

I would love to see around Europe their cup winners, into last CL spot.

Don't understand why some fans are quite sticking their noses up to the competition now because the club have finally won it.

It's not that.

Back in the day, (take 1969 as an example) teams played their strongest lineups. We got to the final and on route there was that unbelievable game against Liverpool...Lochhead scored at Anfield and we soaked up relentless pressure. Shilton saved a penalty, it was blood and thunder!   Fantastic football with all the teams really wanting to win it and none of this playing 10 reserves lark!

Compared to those days the F A Cup is a totally devalued competition.

We had the match on in the van and he said, "you never get giant killers in the cup anymore" and Maidstone scored their first, so I said, "there you go", to which he replied, "but Ipswich aren't giants."

It's a lot down to Man U that the FA Cup started to lose it's magic.

When they withdrew from the competition in 99/00 to play in the FIFA club world cup it was a travesty.

I know they were under pressure from the FA and government to play in the FIFA comp as we were bidding for the '06 WC, but it did irreversible damage to the FA Cup.

That is a Man U fan who probably would have been cheering from the roof tops if they had beaten City last year ?

Strewth! I went absolutely potty too but that guy edged my celebration.

All I can add is when Chelsea 'equalised', I stormed into our kitchen cursing, stamping my feet, thumping the worktop and angrily saying, quite loudly, that we'll never win the bloody thing. During my inconsolable despair, Mrs. FFF voice somehow filtered through, 'VAR are looking at it'.

We know the rest....

Hoping you guys can draw against Southampton tomorrow and then beat them on the replay after extra time

If you can injure a few, all the better. Nothing career ending, you know, just niggling little knocks.

I was with my son at Wembley…. The FA cup still means plenty to lots of people….

We can’t deny that some of the lustre has gone, but as a competition it has the power to create amazing moments that could only ever happen in an open knock out cup….

It will always remain very special to me
