leicester4life Posted 12 July 2024 Posted 12 July 2024 Contract til 2025 means he comes back, smashes it for a year and then leaves on a free to barca 1

Wortho Posted 13 July 2024 Posted 13 July 2024 I see that Sevilla have signed Lokonga and Saul. So, I don’t know where that leaves Soumare. I’m not sure they’ll want to sign him now.

cropstonfox Posted 28 July 2024 Posted 28 July 2024 Could be a few teams interested on Viccy Park? Maybe a whip round for his wages ?

FoxinNotts Posted 29 July 2024 Posted 29 July 2024 nothing imminent, as he’s on the plane to Germany 4
SafewayFox Posted 30 July 2024 Posted 30 July 2024 How long has Bouba got left on his contract? I can’t be dealing with the “Will he? Won’t he?” He’s not good enough to play in the PL, don’t be fooled by the odd diagonal that I can do in my late 30’s and played at Sunday League level.
markko Posted 30 July 2024 Posted 30 July 2024 Any player who is not really part of the plans and is on decent wages let's move them on. 80k a week is 5.million a year. That may get us a loan or two in. Ayew as a striker? He grafts but he does not score many. We have lost KDH. Lots of.goals.and assists. We have to replace that and if we do not we won't stay up. If anyone thinks Daka is going to suddenly become a footballer is sadly mistaken. 1
jv1 Posted 30 July 2024 Posted 30 July 2024 Bonkers we still can’t ship him and daka on - they must be on mega money 1

Our midfield options of Hamza, Bouba and 2024 Wilf are such a depressing and limiting bunch (obviously not including Winks in that camp).

Or is another season long loan with a minimal loan fee the most likely outcome? 1
Finnegan Posted 30 July 2024 Posted 30 July 2024 I don't actually know much about wage subsidies in the real world. It's a mechanic in Football Manager but I don't know if and how much it happens in real life and how it would be managed in terms of FFP / PSR if it did. I think a lot of the mechanics around transfers in Football Manager are there for game balance just as much as realism. Amortisation, for example, doesn't happen in the game IIRC but you can pay a club in installments which... uh. When a football club "buys" a player, what they're actually buying is the rights to his contract, when we sell someone, we clear out his book value in that current season and then have no contractual obligation to him because he gets a new contract with his new club. So I'm not really sure how continuing to pay a portion of his wages would go? I imagine in reality you'd negotiate a lower fee with the buying club to compensate? No idea tbh. 1

My understanding in reality is similar to this. Then it’s then potentially settled with the annual contract bonus etc

Finnegan Posted 31 July 2024 Posted 31 July 2024 (edited) 8 minutes ago, Muzzy_no7 said: So that makes Daka’s remaining book value around 8m? About 8.8 probably, yeah. If we sold him for something like 15m (which would be nearly 18m euros) we'd have just north of 6m in "profit" in this season's books. Meaning you could probably reinvest that in a striker worth 20-30m without taking much of a hit this season. I think his actual value has probably dropped below that though. However much I'm willing to defend him, the truth of the matter is he's had three consecutive seasons managing barely over a 1000 minutes in each. Selling him for 10m or less (which is more likely) would probably be worse than just loaning him out for the season for a half decent fee tbf. Edited 31 July 2024 by Finnegan
