By Jack Austin 2nd Jan 2024, 01:57 AM 2024 has arrived, and with it comes a fresh dose of chaos in the form of the January transfer window. It’s usually a period where there are few big deals done, with clubs more focused on loan deals or outgoings of unused players during this period. However, with clubs looking to become ever more thrifty under the watchful eyes of Financial Fair Play enforcers, the free agency market is one that most will be perusing through. Premier League, LALIGA, WSL and more. The world's best football is on Optus Sport. Sign up here. There are a huge number of players who will be out of contract at their current club come June 30 but January 1 is an important date, as it is the date where clubs can begin negotiating with these soon-to-be out-of-contract stars. However, under English FA laws, players can’t negotiate with or sign a pre-contract agreement with a team within the same league – so a player currently at a Premier League club cannot sign a pre-contract agreement with another Premier League club. They can only open talks a month before their contract expires. The rule is there in a bid to avoid conflicts of interest in the event a player may face their future club before leaving their current one. Premier League clubs are, however, able to sign pre-contract agreements with players from teams in other leagues. Here’s who’s currently available as a free agent in come June 30… (Note: Some players in this list have options in their contracts for an additional year that have not yet been triggered) Jorginho (Arsenal) Mohamed Elneny (Arsenal) Bertrand Traore (Aston Villa) Ryan Christie (Bournemouth) Lloyd Kelly (Bournemouth) Darren Randolph (Bournemouth) Ryan Fredericks (Bournemouth) Emiliano Marcondes (Bournemouth) Adam Smith (Bournemouth) Ben Mee (Brentford) Danny Welbeck (Brighton) Adam Lallana (Brighton) James Milner (Brighton) Josh Brownhill (Burnley) Jay Rodriguez (Burnley) Jack Cork (Burnley) Charlie Taylor (Burnley) Johann Berg Gudmundsson (Burnley) Thiago Silva (Chelsea) Nathaniel Clyne (Crystal Palace) Will Hughes (Crystal Palace) Joel Ward (Crystal Palace) Nathan Ferguson (Crystal Palace) Jairo Riedewald (Crystal Palace) James Tomkins (Crystal Palace) Remi Matthews (Crystal Palace) Idrissa Gueye (Everton) Seamus Coleman (Everton) Dele Alli (Everton) Willian (Fulham) Tosin Adarabioyo (Fulham) Kenny Tete (Fulham) Joel Matip (Liverpool) Adrian (Liverpool) Raphael Varane (Manchester United) Anthony Martial (Manchester United) Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Manchester United) Jonny Evans (Manchester United) Fabian Schar (Newcastle United) Serge Aurier (Nottingham Forest) Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest) Ethan Horvath (Nottingham Forest) Cheikhou Kouyate (Nottingham Forest) Ola Aina (Nottingham Forest) Wayne Hennessey (Nottingham Forest) Willy Boly (Nottingham Forest) Scott McKenna (Nottingham Forest) Harry Arter (Nottingham Forest) Felipe (Nottingham Forest) Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur) Ivan Perisic (Tottenham Hotspur) Lucasz Fabianski (West Ham United) Michail Antonio (West Ham United) Vladimir Coufal (West Ham United) Aaron Cresswell (West Ham United) Angelo Ogbonna (West Ham United) Pablo Fornals (West Ham United) Notable others: Kylian Mbappe (PSG) Luka Modric (Real Madrid), Toni Kroos (Real Madrid), Sergio Ramos (Sevilla), Koke (Atletico Madrid), Mario Hermoso (Atletico Madrid), Olivier Giroud (AC Milan), Adrien Rabiot (Juventus), Alexis Sanchez (Internazionale), Piotr Zielinski (Napoli), Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund), Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund), Angel Di Maria (Benfica), Gabriel Barbosa (Flamengo), Jamie Vardy (Leicester City), Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City), Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City), Che Adams (Southampton) https://www.teamtalk.com/news/every-premier-league-player-who-is-out-of-contract-at-the-end-of-the-2023-24-season Every Premier League player who is out of contract at the end of the 2023-24 season Nathan Egerton 07 May 2024 3:10 PM Thiago Alcantara, Raphael Varane and Tosin Adarabioyo will be out of contract at the end of the season. A number of high-profile Premier League players have now entered the final few months of their contracts and could be available on a free transfer at the end of the season. While some players will eventually commit their future to the club, a lot of stars choose to run their contracts down before picking their next move. Using data from transfermarkt, we’ve taken a look at every Premier League player who is out of contract in 2024. The club is fully supportive of that. He makes us better so we want him to stay.” Elneny – who is the longest-serving player at Arsenal – and Cedric find themselves on the fringes of Arteta’s squad and they won’t be offered new deals. Hein and Okonkwo are behind David Raya and Aaron Ramsdale in the goalkeeping pecking order at Arsenal and look set to leave on free transfers. Aston Villa N/A Bournemouth Darren Randolph – Goalkeeper Ryan Fredericks – Right-back Lloyd Kelly – Centre-back Emiliano Marcondes – Midfielder Kelly is out of contract at the end of the 2023/24 season and has been linked with Tottenham, Liverpool, Newcastle United, West Ham, AC Milan and Juventus. The 39-year-old centre-back recently confirmed that he will leave Stamford Bridge when his contract expires at the end of the season. “Chelsea means a lot to me. I came here with the intention of only staying for a year and it ended up being four years,” he said. “It is already hard saying goodbye in the most normal of circumstances but when there is a mutual love, it’s even harder. But once a Blue, always a Blue.” According to Fabrizio Romano, he has reached a verbal agreement with former club Fluminense and will sign a two-year contract. According to ESPN, United are reluctant to trigger the one-year option as it would keep the 31-year-old on wages of £340,000-per-week. The Red Devils have also decided not to activate the option to extend Martial’s contract when it expires at the end of the season. But United will trigger the one-year option for Fernandez, who looks set to turn his loan move at Benfica into a permanent deal. Tielemans63 Posted 13 May 2024 Posted 13 May 2024 We've tried for Elneny a couple of times before, haven't we? 1
Molson Canadian Posted 13 May 2024 Posted 13 May 2024 (edited) out of all those names that we would have a realistic chance of signing. None of them stand out as major improvements on the current squad. Edited 13 May 2024 by Molson Canadian
MPH Posted 13 May 2024 Posted 13 May 2024 id be reluctant to sign any aging prem player..... What do they have to prove? why would they come to Leicester? Money. Thats why. At least with an out of contract championship 'star' they'd be desperate to make it work.. 1
FoxinNotts Posted 13 May 2024 Posted 13 May 2024 It’s definitely a market we need to exploit. would be great to get the Spanish pair Mario Hermoso and Juan Miranda. That would solve our Left side of defence issue. 1
Ric Flair Posted 13 May 2024 Posted 13 May 2024 I'd not be against Steven Alzate as a squad player. 3
FoxinNotts Posted 13 May 2024 Posted 13 May 2024 Is Ross Barkley free? Would also solve a few problems 1
Molson Canadian Posted 13 May 2024 Posted 13 May 2024 Leandro Barreiro would have been nice but appears will be joining Benfica
FoxinNotts Posted 13 May 2024 Posted 13 May 2024 Rafa Silva is free, but that would be an absolute dream
