Just had a quick peek on the Wrexham forums to see how they are handling the news

can we interest them in a buy 2 get one free deal or Coady, Vestergaard and Faes?

 

Personally I don't have an issue with keeping Coady providing the other 2 are gone but shifting his wages would be a big deal for us

The problem with Cody is he's on about £90k a week. Even if he gets an offer somewhere else and they offer him, say, £45k, he’s still gonna be hesitant because he's losing half his money.

we should’ve just cut him out completely, made it clear he’s not part of the team anymore. Make it so uncomfortable that he feels forced to leave. Let him rot!

But instead, we’re just soft as shit on these lazy freeloading twats as per

The one upside with Wrexham is that his ego’s massive and he will be tempted , all that publicity might make him think twice and Could be enough to push him out the door.

not sure about his ego, but, if hes looking post playing career at a media career then the media profile plus access to the owners to learn from might sway him over short term financial wins here....and i dont think hes stupid

even if we end up paying him the difference until the end of what would be his contract here it would still be a significant saving and worth doing

I don't think we subsidise any of his wage to offload him to Wrexham. If they aren't willing to offer him what he's on now, tough shit.  Given he's obviously looking to get into media work, Wrexham makes perfect sense for him in every aspect off the pitch.  It can open doors long term.  I don't think you'd miss the opportunity trying to force our hand into paying him off.  He'll want the move, so he'll have to make that sacrifice.  It's for his own benefit.
