I'd take £2m but actually thought we'd get more for him. The sooner the better so we can invest it (waste it).

Seriously? We will do what we do every time we get a bid for a player we don't need: Reject it. Pay the player huge sums of money pw and then let them go for free at the end of their contract.

No-one in their right mind is paying more than £2m and matching his £70k a week wages.
