Maybe we aren't realistically going to get £20m for him this summer, but unless we are getting that sort of offer I think it would make a lot more sense to try and reintegrate him than it would to sell him for £10-15m. I dont know who that's still in denial needs to hear this but Ben Chilwell is a better player than Kristiansen. He's also English, a full international and was wanted by a Big Six club. Even then we absolutely had their pants down and it shouldn't be considered much of a yard stick. Especially given the world has shifted a little bit and transfer fees are starting to drop a tad for mid range footballers. VK just very obviously isn't worth twenty and unless some surprising team with a lot of cash take a shining to him, he isn't going to go for that. If he doesn't want to stay I'd be surprised if we wouldn't just get him gone for his book value to be quite honest. 8
oxtonfox Posted 1 June 2024 Posted 1 June 2024 I’m beginning to think Corberan would be the best option; despite the signing of a contract recently. He’s outperforming based on his last two jobs. So he’s used to difficulties that we certainly have, and he plays the necessary style the board seem to want. 1

Which is fair, but if you lose KDH over the summer, then you have soumare as his replacement. I suspect you'd prefer praet over him and that's with choudary as a regular starter in central midfield. It's a relegation midfield with that personnel.

If we sell KDH we will buy or loan a replacement with some of the money and for probably <7-8m you can find someone better than Praet.

Don't you think he'll suit Premier League football? Think he has everything, apart from being a bit slow, to be decent in the league.

The only issue is that he needs, not the best players, but specific players that understand his system. At Napoli he did not have the best, but he had ones that could execute his tactics. At Chelsea he had too many primadonnas to be effective ( he still came in third).
Sunbury Fox Posted 1 June 2024 Posted 1 June 2024 Jose in London for the CL final. Must be here to meet Rudders for talks after the game.
Sankey93 Posted 1 June 2024 Posted 1 June 2024 I want sarri on our touch line with a lambert and butler hanging out his chops!

lcfc_forever Posted 1 June 2024 Posted 1 June 2024 Watching Real Madrid reminds me how the top teams, for all their talent, tend to be excellent on set pieces as well. Interesting Enzo was planning to bring a set piece coach in as well before he decided to leave, hope we follow through on this whoever the manager is. 1
