It doesn't matter how good the individuals are on paper, they will inevitably be hampered by Southgate's lack of footballing intelligence.  And winning mentality in tournament situations.

Southgate sets the team etc, and how he wants them to play.

But every player on that pitch has enough football intelligence to adapt the instructions and positions for them to click and play in an open, attacking wah

We are however, tactically slow at adapting to in game issues.

Don't, you'll have papers like the Daily Mail making it as an excuse for failure and saying it's woke...

He went viral last tournament for some reason, can't remember why

Has Bellingham ripped his socks?

Yeah, loads of players do it. There is some sort of reason but I can't remember what it was. Fatawu does the same thing.

They complained tight socks cause their calves to cramp up quicker when sprinting, so they rip to loosen them

And runners wear compression socks to stop calf injuries……

England have often suffered with the same issue Maresca ball had vs lower opposition. We switch the play so slowly the opponents have a lifetime to get into position. Can see this being 1-0 or 4-0.

Not keen on the thick blue line down the side of the England kit. Doesn't look right to me.

It's just a fad, like wearing gloves with short sleeved shirts.
