kingfox Posted 6 August 2024 Posted 6 August 2024 His best stuff has seemingly come with Morocco, with more eye catching performances over the past few weeks at the Olympics. At Reims though, I thought the jury was still very much out on his ability at Ligue 1 level last season. He showed a few glimpses of promise in the first half of the season, but after he returned from AFCON, he was very much in and out of the Reims starting 11 as he struggled to get any consistency going.
FoxesWalk Posted 6 August 2024 Posted 6 August 2024 I like the look of this guy, seems a good price, wages won’t be silly, lots of potential. Many boxes ticked.

A 6ft6 rangy CM, good defensively, decent ball carrier and can pass a bit. Ranks surprisingly well for goals for his position too, 93rd percentile for his position. You're forgetting this will free up Ndidi to play further forward where he will get 10 goals and 15 assists minimum. Joking aside if one of Winks or Ndidi get injured or need a rest I'm not sure I like the idea of Soumare or Hamza playing regularly. 1
Bordersfox Posted 6 August 2024 Posted 6 August 2024 This thread needs to be given a tier. Urgently. 1

Agreed, but can we really turn down a 6 ft 6 monster in the middle of the park if he’s available for the right price?
Lesta2014 Posted 6 August 2024 Posted 6 August 2024 Like the look of him, looks fairly creative from deep and likes to pass through the lines. Need for him to feed still I think as others have said he would suit the deeper role next to winks as opposed to an out and out 10. May have worked well in the enzo 8s but we seem to have gone away from that from what I’ve seen so far?

I think Ndidi would benefit in the 6 role from having a deep lying playmaker alongside him who can also do the defensive side like this lad or Winks.
Haywood_6 Posted 6 August 2024 Posted 6 August 2024 I've never seen him playbbefore, but wow, those highlights are impressive. Remarkable amount of control and skill from someone who's 6ft 6. However "weighing up a move" doesn't give me much confidence that we'll actually act on our interest
Samilktray Posted 6 August 2024 Posted 6 August 2024 Got a friend who supports Spurs and he reckons theyre interested too
FoxesWalk Posted 6 August 2024 Posted 6 August 2024 Is the Athletic really a tier 3 source? I’d have them in Tier 1 probably. 1

Aleksz Posted 6 August 2024 Posted 6 August 2024 Watched a bit of him during the Olympics as Morocco have been a fun watch. He’s not exactly the profile we really need considering he’d play in a double pivot with Winks and we have Ndidi for that, but he’s absolutely fantastic nonetheless. Gerrimin.
Mark Posted 6 August 2024 Posted 6 August 2024 The sort of player that should have been Ndidi's replacement. 3

Pretty sure it’s just him writing and therefore sharing the “deal sheet” article they do at the moment, so it will be compiled info from across all of the athletic’s football reporters and this is just the headline he’s chosen for today. edit: yeah just checked he is writing it with Ornstein today Edited 6 August 2024 by FoxesWalk
