College soccer is a blip on the sports radar over here, but this is a pretty cool story. University of Vermont won the NCAA Division 1 Championship last night on a golden goal. Beat the #2 and #3 seeded teams to make the finals, and won the championship.

Rare for sure, although I thought he played well, from what I saw of the match.

 

I was certainly happy to see Phonz set up Sane and then shortly afterward, bang one in.

They finished 12th, 7th, 11th, 10th, 7th, 4th, 4th, 9th, and 7th until Diego Simeone joined in December 2011. They won the Europa League in his first season.

They currently sit in first.

And yet when some on here suggested him as a replacement for Pearson the bulk of the forum had a collective meltdown. At the very least, he’d have murdered Rudkin by now.
