Popular Post Pliskin Posted 18 August 2024 Popular Post Posted 18 August 2024 Spoke to my mate who’s a spud. Really rates him. I think Cooper could to use a mix of formations this season, Skipp is experienced and a proper work horse. Like I’ve said, this season isn’t about refined football, we’re going to need to be hard to beat, and a bit rough around the edges….. Skipp will give us this. I’d much prefer Skipp as part of a midfield three with Winks and Ndidi over ****ing Hamza. The lad from Brighton will give us an extra creative dimension, but we’re probably worse off defensively, and Skipp will provide added cover for that. Id be happy with this signing. 15

ronnup Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Imagine Winks gets injured. Whos our midfielder with great passing ability thst can hold the ball? 3

EnderbyFox Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 The only saving grace is at least we haven’t dicked around with it, now let’s get a forward and an attacking midfielder sorted

Spudulike Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Suspect we are just being used by an agent to get his price up so that he can move to a club that he really wants to play for like Fulham, Palace or Bournemouth. 1

copunk Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Pleased with this signing Going to need grafters in the middle of the park, from what I've seen the lad puts a shift in 1

Levi Port Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Really happy with this, great player and good lad 1
Iwebema Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Perfectly fine with the player, my only worry is if money is tight, we still desperately need goals that he won't provide. If we can add 2 attacking players on top of this it will be a nice bit of business, if this sucks the funds so we can only get Ayew then it will be disappointing.
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 He's a proper hard worker, played 25 times for the 21s, many times as captain. Seems like a good lad too. I actually quite like this as a signing. Was excellent for Norwich when they won the league and was in the team of the year alongside some very good players. I like it, but we still need a striker and a 10.
Spudulike Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 The likes of Skippy, Bobby Reid, even Ayew are all Pearson type signings. All underwhelming but do a job that forms a strong core. 1
Mickyblueeyes Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Not seen enough of him to have a judgement but I was very happy when we signed Winks because I thought he had the quality but needed a fresh start. If Skipp follows the same route, we’ve got two good PL midfielders.
HankMarvin Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 (edited) Let’s hope he can stay fit, looks like he has missed more games than he started over the last 5 seasons for Spurs Edited 18 August 2024 by HankMarvin
FoxesWalk Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 If he was called Oliviér Skĩpp and played for a South American team I suspect the reaction would be quite different on here
roblcfc84 Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Very good signing, just what we need. Don’t think we’ll survive without industry and energy in midfield 1

Ashley Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 This is almost like damage limitations. Almost like the club have expected relegation this season, trying not to spend big amounts. Building a squad for the Championship that will compete and go again in a few years time when finances etc are in order 1

He is a technically sound player and for where we are is a good signing improving the midfield over those 3 for sure. But will the club get rid of those surplus to requirements and more importantly bring in the creative aspect we’re actually desperate for. With months passed and now two weeks left you’d think this is all too much. But yes Skipp is a good premier league and I’m quite happy with it as a signing on its own merit.
Ric Flair Posted 18 August 2024 Posted 18 August 2024 Sell Soumare for £10m and Skipp in for £14m whilst more than I'd want to pay isn't the end of the world. We still need a striker and another attacking midfielder/left winger which surely costs us £30-35m 3
